The original intent of the video is Common Ground.  Everyone can condemn the other side on this issue... which leaves us
at the present state of gridlock.

To move forward... and by "forward" I mean to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and to reduce the number
of incidents of women who feel they need an abortion...

Birth Control for those who want it would seem to be a good beginning.  No one is forced to use birth control, but there are
women who have had an abortion due to lack of birth control, so this might be a good direction to go.
The Catholic Church is opposed to birth control but also opposed to abortion... which is the lesser evil?

Since many Catholic women are obtaining abortions and most Catholic women use some form of birth control, I would consider
them as part of the whole in discussing this issue.

Isn't reducing the number of abortions in the US a worthy goal?

I agree. However.........whatever the 'mutual decision' is...........they need to take personal and financial responsibility for it! The taxpayers should not have to pay for their 'mutual decisions'.
I hear you there and agree....but, don't forget, there are a lot of individuals that find themselves in the position of being unwilling parents that are not employed and on government assistance.....so we can't get away from it entirely.

All you have to do is drive down Broadway past the DSS building and see the problem we all have to pay for first hand.

Again.......personal responsibility for your choices. Unemployed? Government assistance? The 'personal choice' seems pretty clear....no?
We live in an industrialized super power nation!! This subject should not even have to be discussed. It's shameful that this country has to even address 'reproduction'!

The Catholic Church is NOT the cause of the problem and even if the Church changed its teaching (and I do NOT support changing the Church's teaching on abortion or on birth control)  -- that would NOT solve the problem.-- and I have already stated my views on abortion (100% opposed) and  the issue of birth control  (recognize that it may be a necessary evil).

Another problem with birth control --  is that some of the methods --- various pills and devices can have side effects .. in some cases DEADLY ones.   I forget which one -- but one oral contraceptive pill that is advertised  can cause a host of negative side effects for the women using them ..............   Is it worth a woman's health or life to use birth control pills ????

I have at times gone so far to refer to birth control as "DEATH CONTROL" because of some of the long - lasting effects on women's health..  For instance it has been shown that women who have had abortions suffer long - term negative health effects including depression and even a greater likelihood of contracting cancer...... Another issue is the extreme right wing's desire to ban abortion when they certainly don't want to ban it for ALL ---  although the Nayboobs hate abortion in principal they often look the other way on the matter -- it is because they would like to see low income and minority children being aborted so that they can pay less taxes to help them in the future.  As usual the GOP/NNTP/Nayboobs check their morals at the door when they see an opportunity to kill a minority child in the womb.

Scots,
I read just today that "Abortion 'does not raise mental health risks' in women...
Some findings:
~An unwanted pregnancy was associated with an increased risk of mental health problems.
~For women with an unwanted pregnancy, the rates of mental health problems were the same whether they
had an abortion or continued with the pregnancy.
~The most reliable predictor of mental health problems after an abortion was having a history of mental
health problems before the abortion, i.e. those women that had experienced a mental health problem before their
pregnancy were more likely to experience one afterwards.

Fixed that mess for you to make it factually correct.

You might want to look up a person named Margaret Sanger.

STOP FEEDING THEM FOR FREE....

JUST BECAUSE SEX IS FREE(YOUR CHOICE) DOESN'T MEAN CONCEIVING IS FREE.....

what happens just happens....DEAL WITH IT....

just because one can conceive doesn't mean one should.....
just because one can assist in the conceiving doesn't mean one should......

that's life.....and a person NEVER knows what their outcome is....hormones are not something to mess with.....and they are all the time via oral/intradermal/intrauterine birthcontrol methods....

anyone care to know where those hormones come from?   yeah,,,,can we all say YUCK together......the research and developement is appalling and certainly not one of engineering.....

the human body is not even remotely close to complete dissection.....especially the brain and the endocrine system and the effects of drugs and other manmade 'interferences'....

so for any of these psych reports to be true.....hahahahahahahahahahaha.....

just look up the mechanism of action of MOST drugs that are commonly prescribed.....WE DONT KNOW or THEY ARE AFRAID TO TELL......and psych drugs--hahahahaha

chemical birthcontrol is another form of a 'psych' drug---HORMONES AFFECT EVERYTHING ABOUT A PERSON....the inability to carry a viable fetus is just a side effect and the desired outcome.....

SO....NO WELFARE/WIC....get over it take care of yourself,,,you have what you have because you have what you have......

BTW a mechanical/chemical abortion STILL changes hormones and affects the psyche.......

There is a whole industry that depends on the consumer believing these reports are true...No matter how many times people are lied to by information produced by 'professional' sources, people are still quick to cite them as the gospel without question.
