Of the14 posts on this thread, who's subject is... "THE TEA PARTY IS TOAST"... a third of the posts are about
the Occupy movement.

(And these Right Wingers post that the Occupy movement has had no effect???
It affected a third of the posts in this thread!)

Quoted from CICERO

If you disagree with something but have no alternate agreeable solution, what did you base your disagreement on?

He's still lost

OK.  I disagree with the practice of Fracking, as it is used today.  The present technology won't protect our water
supply.  I have no alternative agreeable solution... so "what did I base my disagreement on"?
That Fracking is unsafe for the environment.

Where is my agreeable solution???  I have none.
By your definition, I can only disagree with Fracking if I have an agreeable solution.

Not knowing an agreeable solution has noting to do with my opposition to Fracking.
I can oppose something... because I think it's wrong, with out any alternative view... you seem incapable of that.

Your agreeable solution is that you believe in devloping more safety measures to protect the water supply.  You based your disagreement on your concern for water pollution, and your belief in technological advancements in Fracking to protect it.  You do offer a solution.  You have basis in your disagreement.

Disagree with current Fracking technology - Agree with developing advancements in water saving technology.

When ever you state MY position, you always seem to get it wrong.

I don't believe in more safety measures to protect water supplies from Fracking...  I disagree with Fracking.

~"Your agreeable solution is that you believe in devloping more safety measures to protect the water supply"~
NOPE!
Again, I don't BELIEVE IN DEVELOPING anything about Fracking.  I believe in banning it unless the technology is safe.
Weather some one develops that technology is not my concern.

I can't believe I am arguing the fact Box has a premise and conclusion built on logic.  It is in your statement right here.  If-then logic.

If the technology is unsafe THEN I believe in banning fracking
If the technology is safe THEN I support fracking.

The existence of safe technology makes your disagreeable conclusion now agreeable.  Whether you know it or not.
Quoted from Box A Rox

I believe in banning it unless the technology is safe.

When a pollster conducts a poll and asks a person if they agree or disagree with the Tea Party, what is the premise for why they disagree?

Cicero posts:
If the technology is unsafe THEN I believe in banning fracking
If the technology is safe THEN I support fracking.

That may be Cicero's contention, but (as usual) it's not mine.

Just as there may be several factors that convince
former TeaBaggers to now drop their support... I have several reasons to oppose Fracking.
Lack of local jobs... Destruction of roads, noise and air pollution... even earthquakes... as well as demonstrated
water pollution.
In Cicero's world... it's yes or no, there is no other option.
His "IF/THEN" logic may be suitable for computer code, but not for opinions.  You either support a view, or oppose it.
In his world there is no other option. He must Love Chocolate, or Hate Chocolate... there is no room for indifference
or ambivalence to any issue.

You said you believe in banning fracking unless safe technology.  Those are your words, not mine.

I disagree with socialism unless it meant more limited government and free markets.

No Cicero, you once again put your spin on my words.  I have  objections to Fracking beyond the safe water issue.
I would vote against Fracking on the safe water issue, but I object to more than that.

Even though the subject of the thread is TEABAGGERS, Bumble is posting about the 'failed' Occupy movement.
He also posts regularly about the Occupy movement...
Occupy is successful at changing the conversation and Bumble is the proof!

It is unfortunate that the  deranged extreme right-wing hijacked the term "tea-party" because it gives a bad name to a great beverage and gives the false impression that their cause was as noble and high-minded as the REAL Tea Party in Boston --- believe me their movement is neither noble nor high-minded --- the   DERW (deranged extreme right-wing) is hell-bent on saying no to any good idea that President Obama and the Democrats in Congress have ... the DERW goes along with Rush Limbaugh's view -- they actually want America to fail.   The Deranged right-wing are NOT noble, high-minded and certainly are NOT  good Americans ....  a good American would want the nation to succeed even when it is being led by a political opponent.

For 8 years, I supported George W. Bush's foreign policy because I have always believed that we must support our president during a time of war.   Other Democrats shared my view and supported President Bush and our troops and our mission to fight Global Terrorism.   Too bad that the GOP and the DERW which pretends to be so patriotic can not muster enough balls to remain patriotic while Barack Obama is president.   I guess their racist attitudes and hatred of political opponents is much stronger than their pretend love of country.

Oh --- and to compare the INCREASINGLY EXTINCT  D.E.R.W. with toast --- please .. don't ruin something good by associating it with something as ill-willed and hate-filled as the D.E.R.W.

This is great and noble of you, but don't you now feel stupid and used?  A lot of young Americans died...For what, an undeclared war on an undetermined enemy, and an enemy that includes American citizens?

I too once believed in the "war on terror", and the justification for the Iraq war.  But at some point when you awaken from the trance and realize you were lied to, you begin to dissect the political rhetoric and start looking for truth in actions, not allow yourself to be mesmerized by the empty words.

I'm not going to be shamed into getting back in line because of some unwritten rule that you must support every action of your government during times of "war"(I use that term loosely since we have no defined enemy, but instead a tactic, and no declaration).  The last time a nations citizens followed a charismatic leader, Europe was on fire, and 6 million Jews were exterminated.  All because the German people followed their leader blindly because apparently that’s what patriotic citizens do.

In the first (daddy Bush) Gulf War, the Right pushed the phrase, "you can't support the troops, unless you support
the war"... and similar propaganda.
IMO... supporting the troops means making sure that their sacrifice is justified.

And the Democrats that controlled Congress in 1990 funded the war without a declaration.  Does Congress have ANY power anymore?  Why even have the 535 Congress men and women if they can’t check the powers of the President?  The international community and the U.N. is the governing body that brings America to war.

As we all know, in America today, you still have to believe Democrats and Republicans are different, and believe that one party bares the blame and the other no blame.  We have to believe they are different or we would have to admit our democracy is a sham.

Maybe if there was actually an opposition party, they would have vocally opposed undeclared wars and pass legislation defunding these illegal wars.  How about bringing impeachment charges against presidents that conduct illegal wars?  But they don't...Why?

Except that America is under attack from fundamentalist muslim terrorists  and as for being lied to --- I have information from sources that I trust very much that it was the anti-war, anti-Bush crowd that lied or were misinformed.    So I was not used --- I am as strongly in support of fighting the Global War on Terror today as I was 10 years ago.

(and yes - it is an unfortunate reality  - that some of the terrorists have obtained American citizenship and live amongst us)
