There were certainly a lot of nasty posts this past summer --- attacking specific Catholic priests by name. All based on unproven allegations or - in some cases - even when there had been no allegations even made. Hell will have a special section reserved for those Anti-Catholic bigots and bashers. |

Gee, I didn't know God Damns based on religious sect. How about the Anti-Protestants Catholics in Northern Ireland, do they have their own section in Hell? |

Sorry to tell you, DVOR, but in the end, Catholics will be judged, just like the rest of the world. There will be, in the end times, a false religion, and I believe that we have already began seeing this religion, and it is the Catholic Church. |

There is also someone involved in this sex scandal that is being mentioned in the media and his name is Zach Tomaselli.. I think it should be noted here --- the Nayboobs will be whining like brats with soiled diapers over that. |

I don't know anything about Catholics in Northern Ireland - my Scottish ancestors who had any ties to Ireland were all Protestants. But as for God damning by sects --- Heaven is reserved for Catholics --- the other Christian denominations will go to the "hot place" or to New Jersey. |

Syracuse, N.Y. -- In a secretly taped telephone conversation in 2002, the wife of Syracuse University associate head basketball coach Bernie Fine told a former SU ball boy who has accused Fine of sexual abuse that Fine “needs help” and “thinks he’s above the law.”
Bobby Davis taped the 47-minute phone call with Laurie Fine, the coach’s wife for 26 years, on Oct. 8, 2002 and provided the tape to The Post-Standard shortly after.
On the tape, Davis tells Laurie Fine that her husband molested him. At no point in that conversation does Laurie Fine deny Davis’ allegations or act surprised by what Davis has to say. But she also does not provide an eyewitness account of any sexual abuse.
“The issue at hand is that he had no business doing what he did with you,” she said on the tape.
Excerpt from 10/8/2002 taped phone call between Laurie Fine and Bobby Davis. Davis asks Fine if she ever saw Bernie Fine "do anything with anybody else" and refers to an incident in which he says Laurie Fine saw through a basement window her husband with Davis when Davis was very young.
“You did nothing wrong, and you were a child, and he took advantage of that. And with Bernie there’s a price tag on everything. If he does for you, it’s like he records it in a book and you better do it for him,” she said in the conversation.
Davis told The Post-Standard in 2002 he taped their conversation because he believed Laurie Fine had seen her husband molesting Davis through a basement window of their home. He called her Tiffany Circle home in DeWitt from Utah, hoping she would talk about and confirm that she had seen Bernie molesting him.
“That one time you told me you saw him, like when I was really young, you saw him through the basement window when you were taking the garbage out?” Davis asked.
Excerpt from 10/8/2002 taped phone call between Laurie Fine and Bobby Davis. Laurie Fine asks Davis what sex acts Bernie Fine wanted when Bernie Fine gave Davis $4,000 or $5,000, which Davis said occurred in 1998. Davis was 26 years old at that time.
Laurie Fine: “Right. I don’t know. Is this bothersome to you?”
Davis: “Yeah it is. Lately it has been. It hit me hard. I really don’t know why.”
Two Post-Standard reporters attempted to interview Laurie Fine at her home Feb. 10, 2003 about the taped conversation. She acknowledged she had the phone conversation with Davis. She confirmed portions of the tape are accurate, but denied saying other statements on the tape.
Laurie Fine suggested in that interview that Davis had taped her on multiple occasions and edited the recordings to create a phony tape.
ESPN, which aired portions of the tape Sunday, said it hired experts to verify that the voices on the tape were Davis and Laurie Fine.
Shortly after he taped their conversation in 2002, Davis also provided The Post-Standard with a copy of an AT&T phone bill that shows a 47-minute call at 11:13 a.m. to the Fine’s home telephone number on the same day Davis said he taped their conversation.
After a six-month investigation, The Post-Standard did not publish a story about Davis’ allegations or the tape in 2002 because the newspaper could find no witnesses, enough corroborating evidence or a second accuser.
In a signed affidavit to police last week, Davis’ friend and confidant, Danielle Roach, said Davis recently provided a copy of that conversation to Syracuse police.
Fine issued a statement Nov. 18 denying that he sexually abused Davis and his stepbrother, Michael Lang. Neither Bernie nor Laurie Fine could be reached for comment Sunday about the tape.
Bernie Fine’s lawyers on Sunday issued a short statement: “Mr. Fine will not comment on newspaper stories beyond his initial statement. Any comment from him would only invite and perpetuate ancient and suspect claims. Mr. Fine remains hopeful of a credible and expeditious review of the relevant issues by law enforcement authorities.”
Sgt. Tom Connellan said the Syracuse Police Department is not commenting on any part of the Fine investigation.
A single-spaced transcript of Davis and Fine’s conversation fills more than nine pages. One of the main things they talked about was Davis’ relationship with Bernie Fine.
Davis told Laurie Fine on the tape that Bernie often grabbed him as a child. Occasionally, Fine would grab Davis’ hand and try to get Davis to touch him, Davis said.
“When I stayed there in your basement, he’d come down there every night. I’m like, ‘What the heck? What’s Laurie thinking?” Davis said.
Laurie Fine replies that her husband would tell her to go upstairs to check on their own child — “anything to get me out of the room.”
“You know what, ‘Go to a place where there’s gay boys. Find yourself a gay boy,” Laurie Fine said. “Get your rocks off, and have it be over with. He needs that male companionship that I can’t give him.”
“The thing about Bernie, I called him a pedophile and all this and he still goes to Manley (Field House) and he still tries to grab me in his office,” Davis said in the call.
Davis asked Laurie Fine if she ever saw her husband “do anything with anybody else.”
She said no.
Davis has accused Bernie Fine of sexually molesting him for about 15 years, beginning in the mid-1980s, when he was 12 or 13.
Davis first brought the allegations to Syracuse police in 2002, but police did not launch an investigation. After the sex scandal involving a Penn State football coach broke this fall, Davis talked to Syracuse police again, on Nov. 17.
This time, Davis’ stepbrother Lang claimed Fine also molested him. Lang told The Post-Standard in 2002 that Fine had not molested him.
After Syracuse police confirmed Nov. 17 they were investigating sex abuse allegations against Fine, SU placed Fine on administrative leave. The university said it investigated Davis’ claim in 2005 but did not find evidence of abuse.
A third man, Zach Tomaselli, 23, of Maine, told Syracuse police Wednesday that Bernie Fine molested him in a hotel room in Pittsburgh when Tomaselli was 13 years old.
A source speaking on condition of anonymity confirmed to The Post-Standard that Tomaselli’s accusations were used by authorities to get a warrant to search Fine’s 7001 Tiffany Circle home. Syracuse police and federal agents searched Fine’s home for seven hours Friday, looking through his trash and hauling away three filing cabinets.
Fine has not commented on Tomaselli’s accusation or the search of his house.

In other words - the offender - in this case the wife - is putting the blame on the child .. I don't know what kind of kinky marriage they had but it makes me very uncomfortable that this coach could be married to a lovely woman and have such a lustful appetite for handsome young boys.. I have heard nothing but good things about this gentleman so I am not sure I am able to pass judgment. However I will not defend him while good Catholic Priests are being wrongly accused of such perversion and criminality -- usually by bigoted Nayboobs like we run into here. |

I am NOT sorry to tell you this -- but I have always and will always believe that the Catholic Church is NOT a false religion -- and no one ever said that Catholics will not be judged. But I do believe that The Way, The Truth and The Light are found only in Jesus Christ who established and still leads the Catholic Church through the Pope and its Bishops. The most effective way to have a FULL relationship with Jesus is to be born again in the waters of Baptism in the Catholic Church and experiencing Jesus in His Sacraments administered by His Church. All of the other denominations and religions are following after false gods. |

in a word -- YES. The Pope and bishops are human and subject to human limitations including failure and sin ----- but Jesus' Church still moves on - as it has for the past 2,000 - INFALLIBLY striving to perform its mission and bringing as many souls to eternal union with God as possible. |

Jesus certainly did appoint leaders of His Church... and he said that anyone who would lead must also serve others. |
