The 28 year old assistant coach that witnessed the crime should be not only be FIRED but brought up on criminal charges. When you see a boy being raped, you go to the police, not the head coach.
Looks like the media and the court of public opinion has destroyed the reputation of a man with an otherwise impeccable reputation and career.
What did McQueary tell Paterno exactly ? they were ' horsing around ' or sodomizing a young boy ? might determine weather Paterno gets arrested too. |

Not only should Paterno not be allowed to coach the last home game-
he's been fired..........he won't
I dont think the school should play the last game-
heard that brought up already, I don't think the team should be punished.........however, there's a report that Nebraska is seeking assurance that there won't be a problem at the game on Sat. |

There is more then enough blame to go around. It is clear that those 'at the top' were told and chose to do nothing. They didn't want to muddy up the college's reputation. Obviously that was more important and obviously a bad call.
Now do their lack of dealing with the issues when they became aware....the college has now set themselves up for a major law suit. Guess they haven't learned much with the catholic church scandals.
Yep.......... |

It's a little unclear what he exactly told Joe...........he told his father exactly what happened before he talked to Joe.........as far as Paterno getting arrested, prob'ly won't happen........legally he did all he was supposed to, he reported it to his superior..........morally he screwed up..........and continued to give Sandusky access to facilities.......he's also an honorary board member on Sandusky's foundation........that's where Sandusky met many of his victims......just sick |

Yep..............greed plays a big part in it too, and there are some advocating paying college athletes........the only thing holding that up is title IX...... |

I've been following this pretty closely since I listen to sports talk during the afternoon.......it's unbelievable that the students at Penn state rioted last night in support of JoePa........a real sick situation........

Joseph Paterno is an American Hero. I was fortunate enough to know some very fine individuals who grew up with Mr. Paterno in Brooklyn so in a round-about way I am acquainted with him.....I will always like his for his values and tenacity in such a competitive sport.... |

only you would praise this man.....he made the wrong choice and as a result children lost their innocence.
don't you get it??? ....he is no hero and not a legend to a lot of people right now....if he had chosrn to make the humane choice ...he would not be in this horrific mess...84 yrs old...what a way to end his career.
Many people and family are suffering right now..
But I pray for the victims.....
