Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) on Tuesday introduced legislation that would allow federal block grants that states now use to subsidize child-care services to also allow for the purchase of diapers and "diapering supplies."
The bill, S. 1778, would amend the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act of 1990 to allow diapers and related supplies to be bought with grant money provided to states. Under current law, the money is meant to subsidize child-care services to parents who are entering the labor force or are in job training and education programs. It also helps subsidize child-care services for certain eligible families.

Is this the program under which that Albany legislator's husband got paid for babysitting their grandchildren? What I don't like about these programs is that they generally end up allowing the not-so-needy to be able to purchase more "extras" with the money they save by not having to pay for items for their own children. |

This is an appropriate thread for the Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity to be commenting on since they all whine like babies when their diapers are full.......Is the program a good one? Yes, by all means --- do anything we can to help children get a good start in life and their health is indeed important --- No matter WHAT the Nayboobs and Fu{ktards Squad says...... |

I think that it's unconstitutional to ask them to do any work like wash diapers. |

It seems that the last few generations have lost the ideal of personal responsibility. If you are broke you shouldn' t have another kid, it's bad for you, the kid and society as a whole. Not sure how we as a people can reverse this way of thinking. |

Guess all that extra $$$$$ falls under the heading of stimulating the economy. |
