        Historically, New York State is Democratic controlled.  Schenectady County Legislature has 15 members, 12 Democrats, 1 Conservative, 2 Republicans.  City Council of Schenectady, 7 members all Democrats.  Town of Rotterdam historically Democrat.

And aside from that both dem candidates are worthless for town board -  Calder can't vote regarding REMS/Mohawk and viscusi can't vote regarding golub - being a golub employee.  So these two should be nowhere near town board
