When the first drone attacks were undertaken, they were very expensive and took thousands of man hours to preform one
strike, often with poor or unverifiable results.  Other methods were preferable,  and more reliable, but other methods would put
Americans or American operatives at risk.
Today, capturing the target is still preferable, and if possible still the method of choice.  When capture is impossible, then
drones are used.
Today in the USA, when a target puts the police in danger or if civilians are at risk of being shot, SWAT teams will,
when necessary shoot to kill a criminal.

Like the drone attacks in Yemen, killing is not the preferred rout, but often the only one available.

The next time there is a SWAT team, ready to shoot... we'll call Cicero, and he can put his life in danger to serve the
criminal his papers and make the arrest... all after due process of course.

Cicero seems to be preoccupied with Predator Drones.  Paranoia can be a fearful thing!

HIPPA and ANY kind of psych med/visit/note is dangerous now.....pre-crime for a mid-life crisis? pre-crime for adolescent hormonal behavior? really?

terrorist or criminal? is there a difference? what is it?

Huh???  What are you talking about?  We have an ALL VOLUNTEER military and police force.  The American people empower them to uphold the Constitution and protect peoples freedom and civil liberties, and yes this includes DUE PROCESS.  Are you suggesting that the executive branch has free reign to circumvent the Constitutional requirement of Due Process because those people that choose a career in law enforcement don't want risk their own lives, so to preserve their own lives they would rather kill first, than capture and give them their day in court.

We sent a Navy Seal team into nuclear armed Pakistan and stormed OBL hut and could have captured him, but yet, we cannot send special ops teams into Yemen that barely has an Army and is in civil chaos and capture an American citizen and bring them to trial?

Box, you are showing your authoritarian colors, like most all liberals are, so I'm not surprised.  You can justify almost any use of force by the state, and impugn any political movement aimed at reducing the power of the state.  That's why the occupiers movement(small) is romanticized by people like you, and by those in the media, while the tea party was minimized as fringe, and racists.  Any movement that is looking to give the state MORE authority is a worthy protest, that's why they are allowed to continue with little criticism.

The first of the Right Wing Domestic Terrorists, Joshua Clough, also known as “Azzurlin,” “Az” and “Mouse,” pleaded guilty
to a weapons charge Monday, in the first plea deal in the case of Michigan’s anti-government Hutaree Militia.

Clough pleaded guilty to using a firearm during and in relation to a violent crime, namely a conspiracy to use bombs against
local and state law enforcement officials.

Clough was a member of the anti-government Hutaree Miltia, and was among the nine members arrested in the spring of
2010 for an alleged plot “to kill an unidentified member of local law enforcement and then attack the law enforcement
officers who gather in Michigan for the funeral.”

Each case is evaluated on it's own merits.  As with other organized crime, these terrorists are charged with  various
crimes, and various counts of each crime.

Lesser criminals are sometimes offered a plea to aid the conviction of the leaders and planners in organized crime.

The USA has been negotiating with terrorists for as long as I can remember... Even partnering with them.
Reagan gave Afghans Stinger missiles that are still unaccounted for when they were our 'buddies' fighting the Russians.
Ronny also gave Saddam Chemical weapons when they were at war with Iran.
The USA has a long history of partnering with terrorists one minute, then shooting at them the next.

There were even rumors at the time that Reagan negotiated with the Iranians in order to keep the American hostages
captive to insure that Carter would lose the election.

White Supremacist Harpham Gets 32 Years For Failed MLK Parade Bomb Attack

New exhibits were released in support of sentencing for Kevin Harpham, the white supremacist who pled guilty to planting a bomb at a Martin Luther King Day parade in Spokane, Wash., in January.

The new documents reveal details of Harpham's preparations as well as some of his ideological inspirations. According to prosecutors:
[Harpham] is an admitted white supremacist and has been for some time. He is a member of the National Alliance, a white supremacy organization. His twisted views are memorialized in numerous posts on the Vanguard News Network forum, a know white supremacist website. ... His views are known to his family members as well other professed racist organizers.

Moreover, even since being held pre-trial he has continued to communicate with Glenn Miller, a known white supremacist. ... The FBI seized numerous racist books and periodicals from his belongings at his father’s premises. They also seized numerous domestic terrorism related books.

In addition, at the time of his arrest he was in possession of an AK47, a handgun, and a modified digital clock as a timing device.

The exhibits offer extensive details about Harpham's influences and communications.

Plea deals is all the rage in these days of modern times.
Swift, efficient and cost effective. A very profitable enterprise.
It all about the money.
They always love to attach "right wing" to this stuff.
They will take anything and make it into something it is not.
Remember the Gabby giffords shooting,
That kid did not have a shaved head, they shaved it and tried to make him out to be a" right wing terorist" but as they dug deep they found... out oh gee,z this guy is a leftie,
cool it wit da P.R.opaganda.

We didnt come this far to get this far.

755% growth in Right Wing extremist groups.

Fears that the nation’s first black president will be re-elected has fueled the dramatic growth extremists groups
in the U.S. over the past year.
The number of groups in the anti-government “Patriot” movement have sky rocketed 755 percent since President
Barack Obama has been elected.  “These groups are becoming more and more aware as they watch the primary
season unfold that Obama is fairly likely to win and some of them are having meltdowns over this.”
“They’re looking at four more years under a very hated black president — hated by them. So, we’re seeing signs
of real anger over that. People saying we’re at war already, saying go out and buy AK-47s and hollow-point bullets,
get tools to derail trains.”

Patriot Groups:
Unlike traditional hate groups, “Patriot” groups subscribe to a set of conspiracy theories and see the government
as their primary enemy. Basically what ‘Patriot’ groups think is that the federal government is an evil cabal in the
hands of bad people,” Potok explained. “The government is about to impose martial law on the country, very
probably with the help of foreign troops, perhaps U.N. troops. They intend to confiscate all guns from Americans.
Those liberty-loving Americans who resisted will be thrown into concentration camps that have secretly
constructed by FEMA. And ultimately the government will force us all into a socialistic kind of one-world
government, the so-called New World Order.”
(WOW!  Sounds like a few of the Ron Paul Groupies on this board!)

In addition to the staggering growth of groups in the “Patriot” movement, hate groups in general have grown
from 926 in 2008 to 1018 last year. Anti-LGBT groups have grown by 27 percent and anti-Muslim groups have
triple from 10 to 30 in just one year.
