Money has been corrupting everything,as the saying goes "money is the root of all evil".
Money itself is not evil, it is the greed that comes along with it.

Vandalism found at Capital Holiday Lights display December 25, 2011 7:46 PM Kassata Edwards
It's a sign of the holiday season in Albany: The Hannaford Capital Holiday Lights display in Washington Park. Christmas Eve organizers had to delay the opening by half an hour after finding vandalism. Workers discovered every corporate sponsorship sign was damaged. Some were sprayed with graffiti messages saying ‘stop corporate greed’ and ‘don't shop at Wal-Mart.’ On others the electrical lines were cut.
"Which means they have to be rewired which is an expensive proposition. New timers, new programming etc" says Lenny Ricchiuti with the Albany Police Athletic League. It appears the damage occurred overnight from Friday into Saturday morning.
"The messages that were left are apparently targeting corporate America but the victims here are the youth we serve. The 100% of the youth we serve in the Capital District."
The 15 sponsored displays need to be repaired which will run between $2,000- $5,000 apiece. Saturday night alone PAL officials had to purchase over $1,000 worth of new electrical cords. The other signs that were vandalized were about $1,000 apiece.
Ricchiuti estimates it will cost at least $30,000 to repair all the damage which will take away money from the fundraiser.
"The first thing we have to take care of this year are those displays which belong to a vendor so there is no insurance for anything like this."
The event has been going strong for 15 years and Ricchiuti has never seen damage like this.
"We're not going to let the Grinch steal our Christmas here. We're going to keep doing what we do and hopefully whoever these individuals are they'll have a conscious and they'll come forward like honorable people should."
Attendance at the event is up 30 percent this year. Officials want to stress that despite the minor setback the display is open for business until January 2nd.
Holiday lights show damage estimated at $25,000 By BOB GARDINIER, Staff writer Updated 04:39 p.m., Sunday, December 25, 2011
ALBANY — Vandals on Christmas Eve inflicted the most extensive damage to the Capital Holiday Lights display in Washington Park in its 15-year history there.
Sgt. Lenny Ricchiuti, who heads the Albany Police Athletic League, which puts on the display as a fundraiser, said 15 light displays were damaged; graffiti was sprayed on corporate sign boards, some of which were destroyed and several power cords were cut.
"We took the signs down and replaced them right away because we didn't want any kids to see this," Ricchiuti said.
The damage happened sometime very late Friday or early Saturday in sections of the park that are more isolated.
"We found the damage at about 4:45 p.m. Christmas Eve when we came to power up the displays for the night," Ricchiuti said. "We got to Lowe's just before they closed at 6 p.m. and bought $2,000 worth of orange extension cords to replace some of the ones that were cut."
Police estimated the cost of the damages at about $25,000.
Electricians were scheduled to be at the park later Christmas Day to make some repairs so the drive-through display of lighted scenes, some animated, that covers a large section of the park can open.
"This is by far the worst damage we have ever had to the display," Ricchiuti said.
Police said it was also odd that the graffiti messages seemed to echo Occupy Albany slogans including "Co-exist" "Don't shop at the commons," "Stop corporate greed" and "Don't shop at Wal-mart,"

They should target the businesses that enjoy the benefits of the "public/private" partnership. Schenectady County has 7 agencies with lists of businesses that benefited from pilots, grants, and sub prime taxpayer backed loans. I could support the occupiers if they targeted the 1% that was given access to taxpayer money just because of their relationship with one party or the other.
The 99% believe in redistribution of wealth, they need to wake up and realize in Schenectady County, it is redistributed from the 99% to the 1%.
What wonderful people the Occupy Albany protesters are! Obama owns and directs these people which is pathetic and criminal.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
ALBANY — Police arrested two Watervliet brothers Thursday night after one allegedly threw a dart at an officer and the other jumped on top of a patrol car in Center Square, police said.
The incident unfolded around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Lark Street and Hudson Avenue when officers were called to the scene to check on a disturbance, said Officer James Miller, a police spokesman.
Frank and Christopher Colwell began shouting obscenities at police officers who arrived on the scene, Miller said. "You're nothing but worthless (expletive) street cops!" Frank Colwell, 29, allegedly screamed while standing in the middle of the busy intersection.
Frank Colwell then jumped on top of a patrol car, traversing from the trunk, to the roof and then to the hood before leaping off and running away, Miller said. Colwell struggled with the officer who eventually chased him down, Miller said.
While Frank Colwell was being arrested, his younger brother Christopher began shouting curse words and homosexual slurs at surrounding officers. Christopher Colwell, 27, then threw a steel-tipped dart at an officer, Miller said. The dart missed and Christopher Colwell was taken into custody after struggling with police. Once placed in the back of the cruiser, Christopher Colwell repeatedly tried to kick out one of the car's windows and kicked at the door as well, Miller said.
The brothers, who live at 201 5th Ave., were both charged with reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. They were arraigned in Albany City Court and released on bail. Police do not believe either Frank or Christopher Colwell was drunk at the time of the incident.
Miller said its not known what prompted the brothers to scream at police, but added that the incident is unrelated to the nearby struggle between officers and members of Occupy Albany that occurred hours earlier. Around 6 p.m. Thursday, police struggled with protesters as they pried away the group's final tent from Academy Park, a few blocks from Hudson Avenue and Lark Street.

It is just toooooo funny (or sad) to think that they are told, and actually BELIEVE it is wall street who is the enemy....when it is their very own government who gave wall street millions and millions of taxpayer's dollars via a bail out!!!
Kick em to the curb on their a$$es! And face them toward washington!! Dimwits!
