Oakland ‘Occupy’ protesters reclaim plaza

OAKLAND, Calif (Reuters) – More than 1,000 activists protesting economic inequality reclaimed a downtown Oakland plaza late on
Wednesday, a day after demonstrators were driven out and an Iraq war veteran was critically hurt in clashes with police.

The severe injury of Scott Olsen, 24, a former U.S. Marine who friends said served two tours of duty in Iraq, became a
rallying cry among Occupy Wall Street supporters in Oakland and beyond as organizers urged protesters back into the streets.

Yup!  Just like the Rodney King beating and the Kent State shootings.

Rodney King wasn't a returning vet.  Maybe this Marine that was protesting and causing trouble in the streets, was beaten because he was on Obama's terror hit list?  You never know, since we don't know WHO IS ON THAT LIST. It's secret!!!

Scott Olsen, was peacefully standing next to a uniformed US Sailor when he was struck in the head by an object believed to be a
police gas canister.
He was breaking no law.

San Francisco Gate:

Olsen suffered a skull fracture when he was hit by a "blunt object."

Video footage shows a protester, identified by the antiwar group as Olsen, being knocked to the ground at 14th Street
and Broadway after police lobbed an object - possibly a tear gas canister - at a group of protesters.

While he lay wounded in the street, other protesters came to his aid. The footage then appears to show an officer tossing
another canister toward the group helping him.

What part of the first amendment do you not understand???

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or
the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of
grievances."

They broke no law.

They are on thin ice, Box... You can hang to the first amendment, but there are things such as sanitation and residency codes they are, or soon will be in violation of. If your 1st amendment argument holds, then nothing could stop people from assembling on ANY public property, including national parks, etc.

Watch Scott Olson standing in place when he is hit by a tear gas canister.  His actions are in no way threatening to the police
or to anyone else.  He is just standing there.
He is standing next to the sailor waving a flag.

What the cops did there was disgusting, I'm no fan of this movement, if that is what you want to call it, but they're remaining peaceful for the most part. This marine is in very bad shape from being hit in the head but what made it truly bad is seeing the cops attack those who tried to help him. If those people didn't get him to the hospital there is a real chance he would have died right there on the street, and for what because he broke a curfew gimme a break. Again you don't need to agree with them or support their cause but use some common sense.

The significant part is in bold text.

The Boston Tea Party consisted of 116 American Patriots that sparked a revolution.  Occupy has thousands of Patriots all across the USA.

LMAO comparing them, the Boston Tea Party wasn't advocating class warfare and controlled tyranny by the government. Ironic they want more government and regulations after they were just attacked for voicing their beliefs, if anything this should be a wake up call to them as to why civil rights and a small LIMITED government is important.

I'm being very sarcastic with my posts.  I'm trying to show how we built up this police state and excused our president's killing of a U.S. Citizen with a military drone, and then we get angry with the police state that we willfully created turns its sights on us.  Of course I don't think they should drone our citizens, but when the checks and balances and due process that was put in place to restrain the state has been openly ignored and eliminated by those in power, it makes you ask yourself.  Who are they protesting, who do they expect to save them from the power of the state?  THESE PEOPLE AND THEIR PHILOSOPHY OF GOVERNMENT  ARE THE ONES WHO EMPOWERED THE STATE.
