The correct spelling would be "residents", dumbasses.
almost $52k to the city?? We couldn't handle it ourselves?
Taken from a post on FB. The government today has announced that it is changing it's national symbol to a condom because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pri**ks, and gives you a sense of security while you're getting screwed. It just doesn't get any more accurate than that.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE BIG FAT RED HERRING CALLED TAX CAP.....wouldn't want to piss off friends in high places now would we?
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
I don't see why the government needs to tell us when we can trick or treating. What is next? Will there be a resolution proposed telling us what costumes we can wear and what treats we can give out ?

Hey, Rhonda - if I come trick or treating at your door, will you be the one giving out the tricks - or the treats?

What is the cost savings on this??.???????
Since the Rotterdam Highway Superintendent was unable to do the job --- the City of Schenectady had to do the job ... now the town must reimburse the city.
Technically -- this is NOT an example of shared services ... this is an example of the city bailing out the town ... when the Highway Superintendent couldn't do his job.

I don't think one community helping another during a disaster like we just had with a hurricane, flood and tornado should be considered 'shared services'.
I take issue when shared services are expected on a permanent base.
When there is a disaster....everyone should help out and work out the details later.
imho

Well allow me to set straight something- (By the way DVOR- nice attempt) THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH TRUCKS TO PICK UP ALL THE DEBRIS THAT WAS GENERATED BUT MOST OF THAT CHARGE IS TO TAKE THE STUFF IN AT THE TRANSFER STATION. DVOR MIGHT NOT KNOW THIS BUT DEBRIS AND TRASH DOES NOT MAGICALLY DISAPPEAR ONCE IT IS LOADED ONTO A TRUCK BY THE MOVEMENT OF A MAGIC WAND. IT NEEDS TO BE HAULED SOMEWHERE AND SOMEONE MUST BE PAID TO TAKE IT!
The town took out 550 tons of debris and the city took out only 200 tons of debris BUT THE TOWN HAD TO DISPOSE OF 750 TONS TOTAL AT THE TRANSFER STATION OWNED BY THE CITY OF SCHENECTADY! THEY DON'T "MULCH" THAT KIND OF TRASH SO THE TOWN HAD TO PAY TO GET RID OF IT!
So the charge is to not only haul SOME of the crap away but it is to ACCEPT ALL OF IT!
IF DVOR IS PROPOSING THAT THE TOWN NOT USE THE CITY TO ASSIST HAULING THEN THE CHOICE WOULD HAVE TO BE MADE TO EITHER LEAVE THE FESTERING CRAP IN THE JUNCTION OVER A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME OR TO TELL THE REST OF THE TOWN THERE WOULD BE NO LEAF, BRANCH AND YARD WASTE PICKUP UNTIL THE TASK IS FINISHED.
I CAN'T FATHOM HOW THE DEMOCRAPS WILL FLOAT THAT PLAN. THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY TRUCKS, AND SO MANY HOURS IN A DAY. IS IT BASICALLY, DVOR- THAT YOU HAVE NO CONCEPT OF PHYSICAL WORK AND TIME MANAGEMENT OR ARE YOU JUST BEING YOUR REGULAR OLD LIAR SELF????
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Actually, wasn't it this "help" that took out a fire hydrant and made the water undrinkable in the Junction for a period of time? And were we paid back for those expenses???
Just because assholes like GB or MT post something and say "DV is proposing" or "DV is suggesting" does NOT mean that I am proposing or suggesting the bull sh*t that they are spewing. That and GB's insulting attempts to claim that I don't know how this is done or that is done. I am MUCH more intelligent than he gives me credit -- and I would bet a whole lot more intelligent than he could ever dream to be.
I am also aware of certain things that were and - more importantly - WEREN'T done in a timely manner by the Superintendent of Highways.
Also -- as far as boiling water -- I am well aware that gas and/electric service (we have both) can be cut off in a disaster -- that is why we keep a back up supply items (from food to alternative fuel sources) -- just in case. A few years back during an ice storm -- we actually went 4 days without power (this was before we added the gas service) ... and had no problem staying warm and cooking meals.
