the dog park is something that a number of residents who came to our public meeting requested --- and it is something that a town resident has offered to donate land for ---  but as of right now .. it is NOT a priority ... no tax money has or will be spent on it.    The Parks and Recreation Commission has already said that IF a dog park is to be built in the town ... the money to develop it would have to come from fundraisers and/or donations -- and the money to maintain it would have to come from a user fee to be charged to town residents who actually use the park.

whew!!!!

you mean the lack of class/style? we shouldn't be concerned? really?

we dig holes fill them with water
we dig holes fill them with sewage
we dig holes and build crappy 'blow-up' buildings and call that progress....

I see no reason for a park except as a salve on the eyes of the plebs so they dont get discouraged at all the quickie 'blow-up' buildings and MFRH that we call progress....

Any grants the town can take advantage.....go after it. The other communities are certainly smarter at this than Rotterdam folks...it's obvious. This town needs some sprucing, old folks need to step aside. Young folks need to have a better vision andnot give up....You need to offer some quality of life out here, places for people to go, things for them to do....NO we don't have enough, yes taxes are a Concern, but put some effort into understanding the process and take advantage!!!

I'm all for using grants if that is a 'gravy boat' the country/state/county/town can afford......have you looked at your cable bill/wireless bill lately? count the amount the fed/state/counties collect?
tell me where that goes?....this is a big bad web we have woven over the past 30 or so years....I WANT Rotterdam to be a nice place to live and ultimately it is.....but our view of the
future is lacking.....everything is about the NOW and about the VOTE.....hence our guaranteed public pensions/contracts/mandates.......

we have to kill the monkey first.....after that....hope be sittin' on a park bench next to ya......

I wonder why time warner isn't laying cable into Duanesburg? didn't they get federal funding to expand to the rural areas? I believe that's part of the 'fees' we pay. show me THAT money trail......

Recipe for Grants:

One visionary to hold pot, a pinch a sugar, 1 mouthful of sweet talk, a touch of clout, add GREECE and stir. VIOLA! You have a Grant.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
