Frank DeGallo, Rotterdam Town Supervisor. Like the sign says, Rotterdam A Nice Place ... to kick the can down the road. Rotterdam is not unique, elected officials managing to get reelected rather than what is in the best interest of their community is the norm. Buying votes. Buy the votes of the seniors, buy the votes of public safety personnel, buy the votes of vocal minorities & take money from the homeowner to sustain the process. Frank DeGallo has stopped the can kicking process, he is taking necessary measures in his budget proposal. Is Frank perfect no, does Frank have the best interest of the community in mind, yes. Sacred cows are going to the slaughter house, have no doubt about that. The town board is a collection of misfits. A 'teacher' who cannot get enough of the system. A retired police officer with limited vision. A sort of engineer who ran with all sorts of charts & graphs but cannot get out of his way when it comes to a decision. He is 'data bound'. Then there are the two 'home boys' who provide a comfort zone for the status quo. Finally there is 'Bogaman', Franks right hand man, Bogaman should run for supervisor if he wants to be supervisor. Other than second guess Frank or pump their pensions up, I can see no purpose in having a paid board. Let them serve as entertainment for town residents. Like it or not massive consolidation is where we are going. Sooner or later it will be a reality. Vote for people who can read the tea leaves, not donut dunk'ers. Kick the cans down the road of sitting board members & reelect Frank DeGallo God forbid Rotterdam Junction sustains more damage in future flooding, you want Frank at the helm or the Keystone Cops? |
