Congress to Investigate Planned Parenthood Abortion BusinessA Congressional committee has taken the first steps in investigating the Planned Parenthood abortion business over abuses ranging from financial disparities to its compliance with federal regulations on taxpayer funding to concerns that it is covering up cases of sex trafficking. In a September 15 letter LifeNews.com obtained, Rep. Cliff Stearns, a Florida Republican who is the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Investigations, writes to Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood. “Pursuant to Rules X and XI of the United States House of Representatives, the Committee on Energy and Commerce is examining the institutional practices and policies of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and its affiliates, and its handing of federal funding,” Stearns writes. “That Committee has questions about the politics in place and actions undertaken by PPFA and its affiliates relating to its use of federal funding and its compliance with federal restrictions on the funding of abortion.” The letter asks Richards to comply with current federal regulations and legal obligations by providing Congress with a wide range of documents within two weeks of the date of the letter. “Please provide all internal audit reports conducted by PPFA and its affiliates from 1998 to 2010. If not clearly indicated in the audit reports, please detail how much PPFA and each affiliate expended and received in Title XIX Medicaid funding, Title X family planning, and any other federal funding,” the letter says.... http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/27/congress-to-investigate-planned-parenthood-abortion-business/

I know, you'd prefer to have the AbortionDaily delivered to your door. Guess it's a good thing your mama didn't practice what you grew up to teach. |

Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Ocala, is moving forward with his plans to launch an investigation of Planned Parenthood, a national chain of women’s health clinics.
Stearns mentioned back in July that such an investigation was possible, after the release a report arguing that lawmakers should defund Planned Parenthood. The report was written by Americans United for Life, an anti-abortion group. |

just in case you are like Box and choose a different source of propaganda, the letter is attached below. Box would only accept the content of the article if it was from a legitimate source like MSNBC and if the headline was non bias and read like this. 'Woman Hating Tea Party Republican Congressman Launches Probe Into Life Saving Woman Health Clinics.' taxpayer funding to concerns that it is covering up cases of sex trafficking
dont think this isn't true.....ALOT of facilities are positioned near places of 'special housing' for those who require supervised/organized living resources....think not that PP is a squeaky machine....never has been and never will be.... it lives on the fringe....sure they have nice shiny places around but not all are..... they sometimes 'save life' by protecting society from the heartache of remembering what we see in the mirror..... I believe in choice but it still aint that nice.....a gentleman's club protects society from the strip club I have no fuzzy wuzzy feelings for PP but I sure wont remove the choice.....everyday the reflection in the mirror reminds me I am part of the human race no matter how bad we smell.... |

3% of PP services is abortion services. The other 97% is vital to the health and safety of women and men. Conservatives are willing to destroy the 97% in order to eliminate the 3%.
If the Right was serious about eliminating PP, they would fully fund a PP type service, with out the abortion services. PP would go out of business. But the REAL reason the Rabid Right opposes PP isn't abortion. PP is a threat to their control of women. The Right's agenda has always been 'legislated morality'. |

there is a service.....it's called healthinsurance..... and PP is used as a 'control'......it's chemical....just because a woman doesn't get pregnant because she takes a chemical doesn't mean it doesn't 'F' up their hormones..... it's not about the rabid right....it's about the left and the right having 'boy's club' issues..... I disagree with both camps....it's NOT political by any means....cigar? |

Guess you didn't see my post about Federal Funding for BirthRight, or is it that you're ignoring it (and hoping that all the other "Rabit Right" wingers on this site didn't see it. That's right, I said that the opposite side shouldn't get the Federal Funding either, because it's UNCONSTITUTIONAL (but I guess that doesn't help your argument, so it must not have happened). Maybe this is good news from Box of (Left-Leaning) Rox, I'm not Rabid. We'll be having a party. I'm cured! LOL |

Planned Parenthood's Reply:
“We are aware of no predicate that would justify this sweeping and invasive request to Planned Parenthood," the group said in a prepared statement. "The HHS Inspector General and state Medicaid programs regularly audit Planned Parenthood and report publicly on their findings. These audits have not identified any pattern of misuse of federal funds, illegal activity, or other abuse that would justify a broad and invasive congressional investigation."
PPFA president Cecile Richards added: "This politically motivated investigation is a continuation of the efforts of earlier this year to undermine Planned Parenthood, and more disturbingly, women’s access to the primary and preventive care they need. At a time when the American people need jobs, some members of Congress are instead misusing their political power to go after health care access for the most vulnerable women in the country. We are certain that the millions of women and men who count on Planned Parenthood will make their voices heard and speak out, just as they did during the budget battle in the spring." |

Of course they're going to tell you that there's nothing wrong with their books. Let's see what happens when they're told they don't have the choice, that they need to turn the books over how they start to squirm their way out of it. |
