Controversial Bake Sale Highlights Debate on Bill Allowing California Colleges to Consider Race, Gender

Despite allegations of being "purposefully offensive," a Republican student group in California will go ahead with plans to a hold a controversial bake sale on Tuesday in opposition of pending legislation that would allow universities to consider race, gender and ethnicity in the admissions process.

California Senate Bill 185, which was passed by the state Legislature and now awaits Gov. The bill would only authorize UC and CSU to consider race, gender, ethnicity and other factors in admissions decisions, but will not mandate them to do so, the newspaper reported.

Many colleges use race and gender to promote a more diverse student body.

liberal means free choice....not rules/regs.......hence the loss of the meaning......use one of those 'free' student body clubs to do it......although I could really give a rats a** what a private college does as long as taxpayer funds dont
show up.....

The College of William and Mary did the exact same thing a few years ago for the same reason...to demonstrate the absurdity of considering race and
gender in college admissions...and affirmative action...one of the most stupid policies ever conceived...but as you can imagine, every whacky liberal
organization was out there relentlessly attacking what amounts to their free speech rights until it was forced to shut down.

"Diversity" should have no place in these policies...Roxy of course will disagree because Roxy is a big fan of 'social justice' just like any other liberal
nut job....but the truth is, these policies have never generated their intended results....they only lower the bar for certain races and ethnic groups...
and ultimately depresses the competitive instincts that drives one to succeed.

There is a case to be made for 'diversity' but that doesn't mean that I agree with this policy.

Wow- where did you go to school Knucklehead University ? you blame ' liberals' for your crappy life ?

The tuition is less at a California State University  ( ya know- real colleges where you can get a real 4 year degree and maybe get a real job ) than SCCC - really

The point is the way that California provides that aid to go to college isn't being done fairly.

Typical California CC $ 25 per unit

I probably would...if liberals were concentrating on trying to ruin my life specifically...but they are more more concentrated on destroying
the entire country...and liberals are nothing more than useful idiots that provide a vehicle for their agenda.

Your idea of 'science" is 'global warming'...another scam advanced by the environmental lobby...a gigantic hoax meant to destroy
business and capitalism because liberals don't think they should have to compete for success...they want to the fruits of others' labor

why do we put people's thoughts into a judgemental category ...I may be naive but I would like to believe when I make a statement ....it is truthful and from my heart.....categories are necessary in politics.....that way there
justification of self expression can be criticized and mocked.....put into Dems/Reps/Con/Ind/Lib....if only we could agree to disagree and without being hostile....oh what a dream I have.......
