I really like all types of music. I have a large selection that I have accumulated over my "many years" .

Know what you mean. I've been slowly digitizing my collection of over 500 lps circa 1963-80. I have a feeling I may drop dead before I finish that project.

Quick tip. Back them up. It doesn't have to be on disc, but you can pick up an outboard hard drive that will hold probably more than your machine can handle.

I bought a 1.2 TB outboard drive from geeks.com, for around $60.
It's not hard. Plug it into an empty USB port, and it just works.
Right click on your music file, and it will say, "send to", and store it there.
It's like your machine having 1,000,200 a gig hard drive, and if your machine goes down, at least you'll still have your stuff, and you can leave the thing there permanently if you choose or you can unplug it to use on any other computer.

I know what you're going through, I learned the hard way.

Strait's ok, but when I think country this is what we heard around the house as kids. Dad liked to tune into wsm or wwva.

BTW Thought the tune was apropos.

I am not a guitarist but I have an ear. Jeff Beck was the best guitarist that served in The Yardbirds. Not to take away from Page or Clapton, but Beck is a talent all to himself. So flame me if you want but that is how I saw it as a young musician with an ear. I think Page matured to fruition in Zep, but as much as I admire Clapton technically and as a bluesman, I was never inspired by his ability to be creatively melodic the way Beck played.

Charlie Parker was the damnedest alto sax player in history! Who can argue about these three kings of Bebob? Probably Gravelgert and DV.

Yeah, I think everbody's got their own favorite. Yer right about Page too. Clapton in Cream was my favorite Clapton.

Locally my favorite was always Jack Fragomeni. Too bad he's gone.

Personally, I was always a fan of...

And a little Fancy Free with the Tonight Show debut (in the beginning of 1982) of Bobbie Sue.

Yeah, I remember him! You are right- Clapton was at his zenith in Cream. Jack Bruce too. Of course I like heavier music and my fav guitarist ever was Michael Schenker but that is a different sound altogether. Gary Moore is my second fav. Very powerful sound. Totally differnt than the other guy. I like the different and distinctive sound. What did Beck play?  A Telecaster or soemthing that sounded differnt than the Gibson? Or was it a Strat? Schenker played that very distinctive Flying V which very few people played.
