All I read is that 1/8 of overtime budget was spent on the storm (35k was quoted) which would mean the overtime budget is 290k.  I didn't see
anyone say that the police were over budget or even over any 1 line in the budget unless I missed something

As far as brass involved in politics.... You have to provide at least 1 fact to back that up because I have been to about a dozen fundraisers and
political events and have never seen one of the "brass" from RPD in attendance and I have never heard of the brass wanting to be involved in
