New $3M appliance rebate program starts Sept. 2 The Business Review Date: Wednesday, August 24, 2011, 11:32am EDT - Last Modified: Wednesday, August 24, 2011, 11:51am EDT
Rebates of $350 will be available for refrigerators and $250 for clothes washers that meet Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) super-efficiency levels. Super-efficient appliances use significantly less electricity than the federal standard and are at the upper end of Energy Star efficiency levels. Super-efficient clothes washers also use less water than standard washing machines. According to CEE, the refrigerator is the single biggest power consumer in most households, accounting for about 15 percent of residential electricity usage. Rebates will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for completed applications, which will be available on a special web site to be launched prior to the kickoff date or by calling (877) 697-627........................>>>>.............................>>>>...................http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/news/2011/08/24/new-3m-appliance-rebate-program.html

What's going to be the taxpayer's return on this $3M investment on appliances?

Smells like another loaded diaper, straight from the imbecilic bureaucrats and other retarded individual who went to college for "public policy." I would like to load them all on a dozen cruise ships and set them on fire about 100 miles off the continental shelf in January, and steal the keys to the Coast Guard's crafts. That might stave off the country's complete collapse by several months, but only if we stuff half of the academics and journos into the boiler rooms with lead shoes on first. It would be a start, but sadly the institutional left is a menace to all liberties that only grows as we baby our future generations of brats into total captivity and teet-suckling dependency on 'mommy' and 'daddy' big gov.
Look at Not-So-Great Britain. Another decade and we are them. Thirty years from now we are all on film 24/7 -all wearing little grey Mao uniforms that match. I detest the younger bottle fed generation and their moronic parents that brought us here. If it gets any worse, I am feeling like death is better than this continued state of submission to the government.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
