No New Tax Party Candidates File Independent Nominating Petitions
Rotterdam, NY – Candidates campaigning for Rotterdam and Duanesburg town elected offices and for the Schenectady County Legislature filed Independent Nominating Petitions with the Schenectady County Board of Elections over the past week to create the ”No New Tax Party” independent ballot line. The line, which was first formed in 2009 by four candidates competing for positions in the Town of Rotterdam and Schenectady County Legislature District 4, will this year contain the names of nine candidates that include the following:
• Rotterdam Town Government o Brian McGarry – Town Supervisor o Christopher Tomaselli – Member of Town Council o Joseph Villano – Member of Town Council o James E. Longo – Rotterdam Highway Superintendent o James Bradshaw – Town Justice
• Duanesburg Town Government o Seymour Vanderveen – Town Justice
• Schenectady County Legislature o Patricia E. Zollinger – District 2 o Wade D. Abbott – District 4 o Stanley Marchinkowski – District 4
Rotterdam Town Supervisor candidate Brian McGarry stated that, “As in 2009, the residents of the Town of Rotterdam, the Town of Duanesburg, and of Schenectady County have again supported the creation of the No New Tax Party independent ballot line and pledged their support to our fiscally conservative slate of candidates because they seek champions for the causes of smaller, less costly and less intrusive government to serve in elected office.”
Candidate for Rotterdam Town Council Joseph Villano continued, "In tough economic times, individuals and their elective governments must collectively tighten their financial belts. A new level of fiscal conservatism, not seen before in Rotterdam, is needed to restore balance and promote healthy growth. Assuredly tough decisions will need to be made and the endorsed candidates of the NNTP have the will and dedication to these core principals to make them. I am surely honored to run besides each of these ardent defenders of limited government and the true conservative platform."

The No New Tax Party was created in 2009 by four candidates competing for positions in the Town of Rotterdam and Schenectady County Legislature. Its candidates oppose the creation of new taxing districts and authorities and have each pledged to work to hold the line on property taxes.

Isn't TB and TD 'REPUBLICAN CHAIRS'? What would they have to do with the NNTP independent line? They aren't involved with the ALLIANCE independent line. That is why they are called 'independent' lines.....yes?

This is just an outrage since this is not a real party and furthermore this is an anarchistic group which is opposed to our first response capabilities and the public will never support a gang like this that wants to gut public safety.

The nntp 'line' is not a 'party'............it is just a 'line' that anyone dem,con,wfp etc.....can be on if they so choose. It is not 'party specific'..........yes?
