It has come to my attention through various sources that Republican teapooper candidate for Rep. Anthony Weiner's seat has given his child up for adoption because the child had AIDS. So much for being a "holier than thou" tea pooping terrorist for the reactionary right. It shows the heartlessness of these GOP thugs who want to tear our government down. They did to this child what they will most certainly do to our hallowed nation.

Bob Turner, the GOP candidate who failed to beat former New York Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner during the 2010 mid-terms, but has returned to take on Democrat David Weprin in a special election for Weiner's now vacant seat, revealed that his family was the focus of a high profile AIDS adoption case 20 years ago.
Bob Turner and his wife took in an 8 year old child whose mother died of AIDS. The adoption was so high profile, even Hollywood could not ignore it. According to the NY Daily News:
Two decades ago, an AIDS-stricken Brooklyn woman's quest to find new parents for her son made headlines and caught the attention of Hollywood.
A dying Rosemary Holmstrom got offers from people around the world who wanted to take in her then-8-year-old C.J.
The Queens couple who adopted the boy and made him part of their family never wanted to be identified - until now.
Hollywood picked the story up in 1995, one year after Holstrom's passing, as a TV movie titled "A Mother's Prayer"starring Linda Hamilton as the AIDS-stricken Holstrom. Actor Bruce Dern played a character based on Bob Turner himself.
The Daily News story describes further the Turner family's adoption case:
Holmstrom was diagnosed HIV positive in 1986, just a few months after her husband died from the disease. After the Daily News reported on her plight, thousands of letters poured into her mailbox from people offering to take the boy.
Holmstrom met with the Turner family, eventually deciding they were the right fit. She soon found herself as much a member of the Turner family as C.J. In October 1994, Holmstrom finally passed away, leaving C.J. with the Turners for good.
C.J. is now 26 and works in a television production company. His father will face Mr. Weprin on September 13 at the polls. The latest Siena poll has Mr. Weprin leading Mr. Turner by 6 points.
