President Barack Obama is facing mounting doubts within his own party about his re-election prospects, with fellow Democrats beginning to ask if Hillary Clinton would have made a better president.
Mr Obama's capitulation to Republicans in the recent tussle over deficit reduction is being seen as the lowest point of his presidency and the latest in a series of blows to the liberal agenda.
Faced with the staunch opposition of the Tea Party contingent of the Republican Party, he agreed to widespread cuts in government spending without winning any revenue increases in exchange.
Finding it hard to defend his often listless and repetitive performances, Democratic strategists and commentators are privately agreeing with Republicans and comparing Mr Obama to Jimmy Carter, another Democrat who remains the post-war benchmark for a failed president.
"He is a do-gooder at heart," said Morris Reid, a Washington consultant and former Clinton official. "He thinks everyone has the same agenda to do the right thing, but other people don't have the same agenda. Their agenda is to score points and get their party re-elected.
"This is the downside of him not being terribly political like Bill Clinton was. Bill Clinton woke up every day relishing this kind of fight, and Hillary is just a tougher person. The Clintons are much more combative, they are always ready to go to Defcon 1 ('war is imminent' state)."
It's too late. The DEMS made their bed and will lie in it. Even DEMS are running from this total incompetent. No President has ever been re-elected with unemployment over 8%. Obama will not be the first. The sad part is he refuses to admit he made mistakes. He is wed to his failed economic/foreign policies. As Debbie Wasserman stated "Obama owns this economy".
I was watching Morning Joe this morning, and I was floored when I actually heard the panel begin to criticize O-Blame-a for his absence in Washington and 9 day vacation, so shortly after the fall in the markets, the credit downgrade, and the high unemployment numbers. The American people are beginning to panic a little, and our leader is vacationing.
It is my opinion that the Democrats are beginning to change their tone toward O-Blame-a, and are slowly beginning to take him down.

Romney is the 'pubs best shot. Yeah, he's Milquetoast, but all that's needed to beat Obama is not to stick your foot in your mouth. The next best choice? A potted plant.. unless things change considerably by this time next year, I'd bet on the potted plant

Staying on the mudslinging character assassination of a minority caucus? Good for you box, you are a good soldier. It's very telling when an O-Blame-a supporter defends O-Blame-a by attacking a minority grassroots movement. I wouldn't expect anything less from an O-Blame-a supporter.

Favorite books tell us NOTHING... I would like to read Mein Kampf one day... Does that mean I'm a Nazi sympathizer? NO.. It means I am intellectually curious enough to read something out of my comfort zone.

Some people like to read only things that they agree with or make them happy after they finish. I think that you CAN have favorite books that you disagree with the author on their premise. Another book I would love to read is a book written by Robert E. Lee. I'm guessing I would like the Lee book better than the Hitler book because of the writing talent of the Author. On the subject of Hitler, peoples emotions get in the way of any discussion of Hitler. When someone mentions that Hitler was Charismatic, the person immediately gets branded as a Nazi sympathizer. How can anyone deny the Charisma, when the German people enthusiastically followed his perverted agenda?

I agree, if you take a look at Obama's college transcripts you can see his intellect...Oh wait...What's this? No Obama transcripts? No release of the transcripts, we have no idea what he studied or his grades? We know he is a really well spoken sophist, so he must be smart and intellectually curious.
The four years of the Obama's presidency has been what Obama would call "a teachable moment" for Americans. We hopefully have learned from this experiment that has gone horribly wrong.
