Quoted from Run The Roads

DM never was quoted that she would not run again for a political
office. She stated she would not run for TB.Yes DM would like to
run again the gazette has stated that and DM will make a wonderful
Town Clerk she certainly has work ethics and will be at work everyday
and then some. September 13 is the primary and the political parties
have 7 days after that to make endorsements!!

Just because one reads in the Gazette that one would be a "great town clerk"
doesnt make is so and just because one thinks he/she would a great town clerk
also doesnt make is so.

If the Dems thought that DM would make a "great town clerk" why promote
MG to the position?  They had the power to make DM town clerk upon EE's
resignation.

LYNN FIORILLO FOR TOWN CLERK!

Word on the street is that Lynn changed party affiliation.  Does anyone know how she is currently enrolled?
This will determine which party endorsements she is offered and could lead to contention among party bosses.

For example, if now registered as a blank, she may get any party endorsement or none.  However, if she is
registered as a Democrat or a Conservative, she would be vying for the same endorsements as Diane.
And, since the endorsements will be decided AFTER Primary Election day, someone is bound to be dissatisifed.

All this assumes, of course, that Lynn is interested in vying for the office.

Lynn's a good person who reportedly made a bad decision if, indeed, she did leave her party of many years.
She had garnered a great deal of support while a member of the Republican party.

But why isn't MG running for this? Will DM resign from her City job once she is nominated by the DEMS? The REPS have not yet decided and many trail balloons are being floated.

There is no qiestion in my mind I would support Diane Marco because we don't need to go backwards against the glass ceiling and having driven a woman out, only to be replaced with a male,  this moves us backwards. If our political leaders are shortsighted enough to replace her with a male then every remedy needs to be taken and that includes legal remedy with the possible involvement of the Governor who could install a woman and overturn what the local political leaders are attempting. That would be progressive and keeping in tune with the intentions of the electorate in place Ms E. in this post for so long.

I think Rotterdam should - as MSNBC says - "lean forward", and appoint a biracial, lesbian, handicapped midget Muslim to the clerks office.  Rotterdam needs to get as many of the "protected classes" in one office, we can look "tolerant" and progressive to the Obamaites.

It's just a stupid overpaid tax paid 'clerk' position!! After EE's fiasco...it is clearly not an honorable position in rotterdam anymore!! It should just be a part time position at $12K/year with no benefits!! Too bad it's an elected position cause a high schooler could do it!! The rotterdam town clerk office is like a morgue!! As is the the receiver of taxes!!

Never voted for a dumba$$ clerk position or a receiver of taxes position, and never will!!

Three candidates campaign to replace veteran Rotterdam town clerk
By Justin Mason

ROTTERDAM — Rotterdam voters will choose among a seasoned political veteran and two newcomers when electing a replacement for longtime Town Clerk Eunice Esposito in November.

Democrat Diane Marco will challenge Andrea Commarto, a Conservative running on the Republican ticket, for the remaining two years on Esposito’s term.

The 84-year-old clerk resigned in July, 18 months after she was sworn in for her unprecedented 11th term and 15 months after she took a leave of absence from the office.

A third candidate intends to wage a write-in campaign for the clerk’s position. Todd Koza, who waged an unsuccessful Conservative primary for a Town Board seat this month, intends to promote himself as an alternative to the major party candidates.
