Well it's not 'EXACTLY' a Tax Hike...
According to Right Winn Nut Grover (“drown the government in the bathtub”) Norquist , there is an explanation of how this $4trillion Tax Hike is not a Tax Hike...
According to Mr. Norquist, “Not continuing a tax cut is not technically a tax increase”.

(These Conservatives are so funny!  They can get so creative when threatened with extinction!)

Let's call a spade a spade... This is NOT a tax (or dropping a tax credit) on millionaires.
It's for couples making 250K or a single person making 200K and above. The dems are just as afraid of that truth as the pubs are admitting that it IS a tax increase.

The Dems have said from the beginning, to fix this debt problem, we need both spending cuts and revenue increases.   Cutting spending is not enough, especially since Military Spending seems to be off the table.
Tax increases, and closing tax loopholes are also needed.

So where are the DEM spending cuts?-NOTHING! Where's is Obama's plan?-NONEXISTENT! The deficit has exploded not because of Bush but because Obama is a socialist failure who couldn't be re-elected dog catcher. His last news conference was a disgrace.

President Obama needs to forward a plan so he can get back on the golf course and stay there. He golfs more than Ike but couldn't win any war. Everything this total incompetent proposes kills jobs and weakens our economy. Couples, who owe small businesses, making $250,000 are not millionaires. Sick and tired of you brain dead soak the rich socialists. It didn't work in NYS, it didn't work in Greece, it didn't work in Schenectady County and it won't work nationwide.

I think Benny must work as a telemarketer! He's been selling the Obama's a socialist for so long that he's starting to believe it!
Benny, the Republicans walked out on Obama's plan.  He offered $4trillion...back in April,  the GOP said NO.

C'mon Box, that was nothing more than a political move. He never got specific on the cuts, because he knew if he did, it would be exposed that he wanted had to cut entitlement programs.. which are non-starters for the Dems.... He knew it would never pass, so it was safe to throw around figures and make it look like he was doing something.

Obama has been in wars for 2 more... the economy got worse...
Just how is borrowing more money to finance yet another war going to help the US Economy???

'I will cut billions from Medicare and Medicaid' Obama.

The Obama administration is considering hundreds of billions of dollars in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid as part of negotiations with Republicans to raise the debt limit and close the deficit.

It's not..
But raising interests rates will help. It make our bonds ( and dollar) more attractive to buy.
Bernanke is terrified of inflation and the old school way of taming inflation is keeping interest rates down.
However, when you do that, you CANNOT print more money or you make the dollar weak. Since we import so much it costs more dollars to buy product, and inflation goes up...exactly the opposite of what Bernanke wants

So what? He proposed something that would NEVER pass the Dem controlled Senate.
I can tell my kids I'll buy them all new laptops but if my know my wife will never go along with it, whats the point?

That move was for Obama/Biden 2012, nothing more.

That was set to happen any ways, the cuts were a way to fund the new healthcare law.

I think you're wrong.  I think the eventual package will cut Medicare (maybe slightly) but more deeply will cut Medicaid.
So grandma will pay more, as Obama has proposed... and still the Repukes still hover over their most important constituency... THE VERY RICH.

Obama offers cuts in Medicare and the GOP still won't ask one rich man to pay an extra dollar.  Shows ya where their loyalty lies.

Revenue will rise once unemployment starts to drop, that is unlikely to happen with uncertainty about what to expect in the future. If taxes rise unemployment will stay the same if not get worse and revenue will remain the same. Revenue is not the problem the problem is spending, they need to live within their means but are unwilling to do so, it's a recipe for disaster.

A global war like WWII is only one of the two ways to fix the economy..............just like it did after the great depression!!
