Quoted from A Better Rotterdam
As a man that I had as a professor I like and respect Mr. Buffardi. As a canidate I am very concerned that I cannot find information on what he plans to do if elected. I shouldn't have to hope he shows up at my door looking for a signature. I really hope that mr Buffardi and the individuals advising him on his campaign due a better job of getting a message out, so people can make an educated decision. Mcgarry has had information on his intentions posted for some time now. This shouldn't take alot of effort? I posted about this over a month ago and I can't believe that I still can't find anything.

The campaign has just started ---  and some literature is out there and more is being planned ... the website its being updated  ... mailers are being planned .. there will be meet the candidate events .. debates.

We are going door-to-door to talk to the voters ... the gathering of signatures is over.    I'd be happy to arrange for you to meet the candidates personally  ( you don't seem like a dangerous person)

Harry is using a Rose Garden strategy like Richard Nixon. Since he has a well known name he thinks he can waltz into office, while not answering any questions. The Gazetto is happy to play ball-since it never asks anything any way. Where does Harry stand of County consolidation of the RPD? We don't want town police thrown into a County force like the DEM committee wants.

Brian McGarry has courage and conviction regarding his political ideals and his vision for the Town of Rotterdam.  As you stated,
his website addresses his position on several of the issues that confront the town.  He has collected hundreds of signatures
and appeared at many more doors to discuss the residents' concerns.  While you may not agree with every one of his
stated positions, you know where he stands and what he intends when elected.

Other candidates choose not to disclose their positions.  I assume that the reason is either that that have not been told by their
handlers what they are expected to do if elected or that they don't want the voters of Rotterdam to make informed decisions.
Could it be that their plans, if disclosed, would benefit only the privileged few and not be in the best interests of the greater
population?

Ask questions.  Seek answers.

McGarry is a stooge for Littlefield, Mertz and Amedore.  A pretend conservative who says nothing about the huge increase in taxes his friend DelGallo imposed on the town but cried like a banshee when Tommasone...a REPUBLICAN, raised taxes .01 percent.  He is a hypocrite and has very little support.  Sorry to rain on your parade Bradley.

Ahhhh!  More negative campaigning, the nemesis of their fall from grace!  I guess Greeny can't read that the thread is looking for HB, not BM . . . .

The problem is that Brian McGarry has been clear-against the REMS tax which the DEMS all supported. For keeping the RPD independent and not part of the DEM idiotic County consolidation schemes. Even SS Savage was against the position DVR and the Town DEMS keep pushing. HB needs to stop hiding and be clear about the DEM County consolidation of police. Silence means approval. The DEMS couldn't run FDG again so they made a Hail Mary. They had no one to run for TB so are running a REP Excusi. They can't defend their pathetic record over the past 2 years.

When a politician isn't saying what platform they support they are purposely trying to deceive the voters, remember hope and change, all hype but told us nothing.

That's is how FDG and the "Revitalize Rotterdam" team won two years ago.  With platitudes put forward by The Party, running as a referendum of the Republican Administration, not engaging his opponent, and not responding to the press.

Democrats can't endorse FDG and Bob G two years ago, and then run a referendum campaign against those same people.  Where are their ideas?

It's 16 weeks until Election Day - What does Harry stand for?

It really doesn't matter where Harry aka Waldo is or what he says his platform is. The dem chair has spoken over and over and over in favor of the taxing district to support rems. The dem chair AND wc has expressed support for police consolidation within the county. The dem chair and the entire democon slate support and will try to push through a $14M+ public safety building aka higher taxes. ALL issues that the rotterdam residents DO NOT WANT!! But that is clearly what they will get if they vote HB and the REUNITE ROTTERDAM slate.

HB will do as ordered by TJ Hooker. He's hiding for a reason. Expect him to skip any debates. Will he support consolidation of the town police into the DEM consolidation scheme started by horrible Stratton?

We know that the DEM mouthpiece here supports police consolidation and elimination of town borders. He has said this on many occasions. He doesn't appreciate an independent professional police force. Is this now the official DEM platform? After the disaster of 2 years ago no one wants one party anything. Some checks and balances need to be restored.

The city is so damn broke that they are now trying to push their unsustainable budget on to the towns. The town folk DO NOT want any part of it. The city folk have to start voting these clowns OUT of office and abolish the plex and lower the lucrative welfare package. They can't even pay the county or maintain the roads!!!

Yea....like the town folk are gonna go for that one........NOT!

Nah, there's no hypocrisy!  This thread was dedicated to HB and his stance on political issues concerning the Town.  It really isn't a BM thread, hey maybe you might want to start one for yourself!

Negative?  How is asking if anybody knows where he stands on the issues facing the town considered negative?  I don't recall anybody asking if Harry is competent enough to hold the position.  Unless Tracy sent a letter to Tony J questioning Harry's literacy that we don't know about.
