Since the democons took over the rotterdam town hall, there has been increased crime, a tax payer supported gin mill, increased blight, the hundred and something bank, the friends and family club alive and well with developments popping up all over, including zoning changes for folks who are deliquent on their taxes with no regard for the residents or protecting the values of their homes, a hamilton hill just 1/4 of a mile from their town, higher taxes for an ambulance district, paying a town clerk $50K/year that hasn't been at work for over 1 year, rehiring a friends and family club unpopular assessor.......and the list goes on!!
The democons in rotterdam are NOT dealing with the same electorate mindset that the city democons do. Rottedamians are MUCH smarter!! The rotterdam residents gave them a chance and they failed miserably!! The rotterdam residents know that if they vote a democon in again, their town will be the home of more gin mills, section 8, buses, taxis and a school system that will also fail to graduate 50% of it's students.

Folks like Bumblethru (aka John Mertz) were rejected by their fellow Republicans -- because even the rank and file Republicans know how incompetent and ineffective he was in office.
Then he and McGarry create a "no new taxes" party --- which sounds nice on paper -- but they don't actually have a clue as to how to govern and pay the bills. McGarry -when he ran in 2009 - said he would tear up the contracts with the public employee unions and shut down the police department on his first day in office. The supervisor does NOT have the legal authority to do that unilaterally --- and McGarry is too naive to know better ..and you can't run a town by eliminating all town services ..and trying to live in the Little House on the Prairie days.
