Ohio 'Heartbeat Bill' Divides Pro-Life Community
Posted: 7/7/11

A controversial new bill in Ohio that would ban abortions after the fetal heartbeat can be detected is driving a wedge into the state's pro-life community, with some concerned that a court battle over the bill could end up reaffirming Roe v. Wade.

House Bill 125, which passed in the state House of Representatives by a vote of 54-44 last week, effectively bans abortions as early as five and a half weeks into the pregnancy -- before some women even know that they're pregnant -- and contains no exceptions for rape, incest or the health of the mother. If the bill is signed into law, a woman will only be able to receive an abortion if the doctor can prove that her life is threatened.

"Some believe that would probably diminish abortions 85 to 90 percent," state Rep. Lynn Wachtmann (R), the author of the bill, told HuffPost. "For those of us who believe life begins at conception, this bill is a big ask to the federal courts to protect the unborn."........................>>>>................>>>>......................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/07/ohio-heartbeat-bill-divides-pro-life_n_892530.html

For women who can afford to travel, they will cross state lines for a legal, safe abortion.

For those who can't... the Ohio bill signals the return to Ohio's back alley coat hanger abortions.

And for the responsible people that respect human life, they will not have casual sexual relationships, and will decide to abort before 5 1/2 weeks,  or will have the child and put it up for adoption.

LAMO!  Cicero needs a class in human anatomy.

At BEFORE 5 1/2 weeks???
Most women have no idea that they are pregnant BEFORE 5 1/2 weeks.  For much of that time the size of the embryo would fit between these parenthesis   ().

Once again the Right is attempting to legislate morality... if a bunch of women have babies that they don't want... Cicero thinks this will cause other women will not have sex.
Great Logic.  Ask Bristol Palin how that plan worked!

Maybe planned parenthood can promote affordable monthly pregnancy tests for the low income women so they can be aware of their pregnancies.  Wouldn't that be an alternate and socially responsible program instead of the - oooops!  I didn't know I was pregnant at 10 week abortion?
