Talking about ignoring something, how about you ignoring my previous post. How can the jury honestly say they deliberated six weeks of testimony in 10 hours without a single read back? They're either Einsteins or lazy, and based on what I have listened to from them so far, Einstein can rest easy.
Your illogical connection between deliberation and a verdict helps me understand how you can believe that certain behavior result in a specific outcome. Like being a bad mom and lying = pre-meditated murder. Are you saying that if they deliberated for 20hrs? 30hrs? 40hr? and reached a verdict of not guilty, it would be more acceptable?
I can honestly say that amount of time deliberated has ZERO relationship to the verdict. I'm pretty sure if the jury deliberated for 5 hours and found her guilty on Murder 1, you would be saying that it was because it was a "slam dunk" case.
What America should do is to scrap the 12 juror system and hold America Idol style trials. We can have Ryan Seacrest host or "trial reporter", and a judging panel of 3. It would be made up of, one former prosecutor, one former defense attorney, and one former judge. Each night they can give America their “professional” opinions on the case. It can be broadcast nationwide at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Then, when the trial is over, the viewers can call in and vote by pressing '1' for guilty - '2' for not guilty - '3' for innocent. It would be a much more just and fair way to do it. We can’t leave this up to 12 "stupid" jurors anymore.
And character and reputation for Casey? LOL stealing and writing bad checks, accusing truly innocent people of kidnapping, 31 days of forgetting she was a mother before HER mother reported Caylee missing? She made her own bed.
None of what you mention makes Casey a cold blooded murdered who plotted and planned the death of her 3 year old daughter. It makes her a negligent mother that may have been covering the death of her daughter to protect her mother and father.
Ask yourself, if Casey's mother watched the Caylee the majority of the time while Casey was partying, and Casey never had a Nanny, why did Casey's mother wait 31 days to report her missing. The way the media made it sound, Casey's mother watched Caylee the majority of the time. Why did she wait 31 days?

Illogical?? LOL now, you're just being an azz to be an azz Please read this again.. The average deliberation time for a capital murder case in the state of Florida is 5 DAYS. It is impossible for anyone to comb through 6 WEEKS of evidence in a little over a working day. And yes, if they had spent more time going over the evidence, I might respect their verdict more than I do now.
If you think that methodically going the over evidence at your disposal has no outcome on the final result, I hope to god you're not employed as a decision maker anywhere.

You're right, it doesn't. But that's not what I was trying to say. I was answering YOUR POST about how Grace destroyed Caseys character, I said her character was destoyed by her actions

She waited because Casey gave her excuses about where the child was (the nanny that didn't exist) She called once she smelled death in the car.

No, I read it right the first time. I don't have time to research EVERY case in Florida, but I'm pretty sure I can find ONE case where a jury found a person 'not guilty' of murder one with 6 weeks of evidence and one day of deliberation. Your logic would conclude that anybody found 'not guilty' in the same period of time and the same amount of evidence as this case would mean the jury was "stupid" and the defendant was guilty. Averages are just that - AVERAGES.
If 10 hours was too short of time for the jury to come up with a not guilty verdict, why is 10 hours and 1 second enough time for Americans that weren't even in the courtroom to come up with a guilty verdict?

No, my logic would conclude that if the jury took only 10 hours to deliberate over that amount of evidence such as in the Anthony trial, REGARDLESS of their verdict, that verdict would be suspect because they COULD NOT have examined the evidence thoroughly in that period of time, especially with no read backs or sufficient note taking.

I didn't say it was. The jury's own laziness opened that door

American armchair jurors had the guilty verdict without deliberation. sh*t, this trial wasn't even necessary for most Americans. It was just a formality. I can't even count how many times I heard "slam dunk" by the so-called experts in the media.
The American armchair juror isn't just lazy, but arrogant.

Time will tell who was right. I hope that someone doesn't have to pay with injury or their life if the jury made the wrong decision... I think it's even money at this point.

You think Casey is a threat to society? You think she could Murder again?
You think Casey is a threat to society? You think she could Murder again?
I think that if she did it, she will have this sense of being Teflon-like. She definitely has some mental issues, maybe money will solve them. She will probably surround herself with "yes" people... people who would not dare to criticize or bite the hand that feeds them. Bad Notoriety will follow her and depending on how long the money lasts, it could trigger something. Would she commit a murder? that's anyone's guess, but more likely something like larceny or domestic abuse. I think it depends on how long money can mute her flawed character.

She will have a similar path to fame and fortune as 'octo-mom'. She will also have the same longevity in the public eye.
It will interesting to see. Octomom is begging for money now. She went from celeb to freak to irresponsible birther...
Casey will start in many peoples eyes as a murderer who got away with it. I think she will be more likely to follow an OJ path with a little octo mom thrown in

Our 'civil' justice system was set up to protect EVERYONE, innocent and guilty from witchhunts and kingdom rule.
How's that workin' out?
