The new Bloomberg National Poll is a shock for Obama and his dimming hopes for re-election. Only 30% are certain to vote to re-elect Obama. 36% definitely won't.

Among Independents the news is even worse for Obama's re-election. Only 23% of Independents back Obama for re-election! 36% will look for another candidate. Once the REPS select a candidate the numbers for Obama's re-election will get even worse.

The same Bloomberg Poll:
In the poll, 49 percent of respondents said they’re worried about Republicans gaining control of the White House and Congress and following through on pledges to slash funding for benefit programs like Medicare and Medicaid, outnumbering the 40 percent who said they are concerned about another term for Obama and a continuation of current spending policies.
Among independents, 47 percent said they are worried about a Republican takeover compared with 37 percent who are concerned about maintaining the status quo.

Also from the Bloomberg "shock poll"...
Obama/Reagan:
Obama's ratings dip is reminiscent of former President Ronald Reagan.
Seventeen months before Election Day, Reagan's presidential approval rating was 43% -- and he won a second term in a landslide.
Obama's overall job approval stands at 49%.

Less than two months after the killing Osama bin Laden, 69% of Americans -- including 51% of Republicans -- said they approved of his performance on terrorism, while 27% didn't.

With the president poised to announce his plans for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, the poll found that 53% of Americans support a gradual pullout over the next couple years compared to 30% who want them to come home immediately.

The polls mean nothing at this point. Its all going to come down to how the voters wallet feels while in the voting booth. It feels like it does now, Obama is toast...unless the 'pubs nominate someone on the extreme side of the party.

Oh yes, Afghanistan.. I wish Obama would be honest with the American people, even after all of the "withdrawls" are over, we are still looking at 70,000 American troops in country. Most of the troops to be withdrawn are part of the 35,000 that were added as part of the surge.

Under Reagan the economy was drastically improving. He understood capitalism and job creation. The current incompetents answer to everything is more deficit spending and more government.

Reagan understood that the worst words in the English language were; "I'm from the government and I'm here to help". Let me go out on a limb and predict Obama will never win 49 States-or as he would say 57 States. Obama's re-election numbers are in free fall mirroring his pathetic economic numbers.

Unless fuel prices are at or near 2008 election prices - people will remember.

Unless unemployment is down, SIGNIFICANTLY, people will remember.

While our troops are still in AFG - people will remember.

There's dozens of broken promises - people WILL remember

Unemployment under Reagan was higher than under Obama...
The highest unemployment in modern times is Nov and Dec 1982...10.8% (Reagan)
1982 the highest year average unemployment rate of 9.71% (Reagan)
Reagan/Bush started office with $1Trillion in debt... Left office with $3Trillion in debt.

At the same time in their terms, Reagans unemployment was at 10.1%, Obamas is at 9.1%.
After June 1983, Reagans rate began to drop noticably.. By December 83 it was 8.3% and by the Republican convention in July 84, it was 7.5%. It dropped 2.6% in 12 months. To equal that, our unemployment rate would have to drop to around 7% by July 2012. There is not one single economist that predicts that will happen. In fact, most say 8% would be the best we could hope for. Reagan also did not have a imploding housing market.
Obama is in serious trouble Box, whether you want to admit it or not. Unless things change drastically for the better, the only thing that could save him is the pubs nominating someone like Michelle Bachmann

Obama will not have it easy in the 2012 presidential bid... but right now, with the announced candidates... he has a good chance of reelection.
Most Americans still blame Bush for the state of the economy and the two Bush wars... much will depend on what happens in the next year.

But Bush isn't running. And it will be another 15 months further from the Bush admin.
This group of candidates reminds me of the group of democrats candidates in 1974 and 1991.
All yawners until one of the pack separated themselves. Don't be surprised if someone on the periphery sees this and jumps in shortly before primary season.

Box, you are right. You and DVOR. All the democraps are winners and you can stay home at election time because it will be a democrap sweep everywhere. This year and next and maybe forever.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

66% think the Nation is headed in the wrong direction but this is good news for Obama. Here's the funniest one-Osama is more popular in Egypt than Obama 21% to 12%. Gee, I thought Obama would increase US support on the Arab street-lol. Obama's support is in the toilet worldwide. He needs another apology tour to apologize for the results since his last apology tour.
