ALBANY Homeless man arrives at last to claim estate BY STEVEN COOK Gazette Reporter Reach Gazette reporter Steven Cook at 395-3122 or scook@dailygazette.com.
Max Melitzer has been found, again. The homeless Utah man due to inherit his late Schenectady brother’s estate arrived at Albany’s bus station late Thursday evening, about nine hours after he originally was to arrive, Melitzer’s cousin Richard Goldfarb said Friday. Local television and print media had waited for Melitzer to arrive Thursday afternoon, but he didn’t appear, leading family to wonder what had happened. The answer, Goldfarb said, ended up being a simple one: Melitzer’s bus broke down. While the reunion was delayed, it was still a happy one, he said. “I wished the cameras were there,” Goldfarb, of Ballston Spa, told The Daily Gazette by phone Friday. “He looked a little rough from the trip, but he knew exactly who I was. He gave me a big hug.” Melitzer traveled back to the Capital Region to clear up issues and claim his late brother’s estate. Melitzer’s brother Morris, of Schenectady, passed away in 2010, telling Goldfarb he wanted his estate to go to Max, so Max wouldn’t be homeless anymore. .......................>>>>.......................>>>>......................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01201&AppName=1
