SCHENECTADY -- County workers represented by the Civil Service Employee Association have ratified a new two-year contract.
The vote was 292 to 237.
Therese Assalian, union communications specialist, said new language addressing concerns related to retiree health care costs as well as new hires at the Glendale Nursing Home were made during a one-day mediation session after the last offer was rejected in April.
Voting took place at county work locations over the past week and ballots were counted Thursday night, Assalian said.
The previous contract expired Jan. 1.
Assalian said it is expected that county legislators will soon approve the contract.
