So when we are discussing this great Libertarian Uprising... How many people are we discussing??? 50?  A hundred?  A few thousand???

Ron Paul got 36,000 votes total in 2008.  About the same as Obama or McCain received in some smaller towns.

He didn't run in the general election in 2008.  So what are you talking about?  He placed 5th in the Republican Primary and received 34 delegates.  He did run in 1988 as the Libertarian candidate and received 431K votes.

Libertarianism is rising faster today than ever before, the Tea Party which was started in 07' by the Ron Paul supporters is already a force to be reckoned with as seen with the last elections. Although we do have a long way to go considering many tried to hijack the movement and many on the right are still stuck in big government mode. Times are changing though and it will eventually come either by the people waking up or we are forced to shrink government to avoid a major collapse like Rome. The domestic and foreign policies in place now are unsustainable and the signs are showing that.

In the 2008 presidential election,Ron Paul received 41,905 votes; listed in Louisiana (Louisiana Taxpayers) and in Montana (Constitution), with write-in status in California.

Yes, Paul and 25 other candidates received votes for the 2008 presidential election.  You continue to try to spin lies into truth.  You are attempting to paint a picture that Ron Paul campaigned after he lost the Republican primary and could only get 47K votes.  That's a LIE.  It is a poor attempt at intellectual dishonesty.  Fortunately, most on this board can see through it.

~ "a poor attempt at intellectual dishonesty" ???
I posted election results... what the reader makes of it is their own choice.  (Your choice was to spin spin spin.)

To the thread title:
WHAT IS A LIBERTARIAN???

A Libertarian is your typical rabid  Conservative Republican, who smokes weed, and had his 'Mean Streak' removed!

In general, I've noticed that Libertarian candidates  often seem to be less hostile than their Conservative brethren, and some actually appear to be nice people.

My selfish life continues... I'm a USER.  I TAKE, but never GIVE.  Now I'm an adult.  It's my time to GIVE... but I heard about these people they call 'LIBERTARIANS'.  They TAKE and never have to GIVE.
They are against paying taxes, like the taxes that funded so much of my youth.
Libertarians  are against any personal responsibility to the greater community... they say NO!  IT'S MINE. They are against  repaying the benefits that I received when I was young and still receive.

I dont think you see the point....it's NOT the government's job to say whether or not your OR I have given enough....I dont know what you have given and you dont
know what I have given....flat tax for everyone.....as for personal responsibility---IT'S THAT FREAKIN' PERSONAL....the law is made for CRIMINALS(madoff/manson
etc)....the law was not made to a Minority Report....if you think you need something on your shoulder telling you what is right and wrong(based on what the
government thinks is right/wrong) then you go right ahead....

which brings up the question---are people inherently good or inherently bad?

BTW I have a cup of sugar and a beer if you are in need.....I'm sure we could work out a barter......

I know libertarianism is a strange concept to the past 2-3 generations that have been taught the opposite which is "take it from the future"........then the government will
pretend to 'equalise' it......after taking their cut.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
