It's MINE!  Keep your hands off of what is MINE!
MINE MINE MINE!

I earned it and I'm gonna keep it.  I EARNED THIS ALL BY MYSELF... PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!  IT"S MINE! NOT YOURS MINE!
I'm so sick of Libertarian selfishness and greed!

~ I was born in a hospital... a public hospital paid for in part by tax dollars and donations from others.  It wasn't my hospital... I never paid a penny for it,  but I took the services.  The doctors and nurses who staff this hospital were trained by private and PUBLIC schools and grants... I never gave a dime for their education... but I reaped the benefits of the public money that went into their skill.

~ My Dad drove my mom to the hospital on public roads... Paid for by the taxpayers not ME.  I needed some precautionary drugs when I was born to prevent disease... the drugs were researched and funded in part by tax payer dollars.  I never paid one penny in tax, but I got the benefit of those drugs.

~ When I went home, my mom and dad took good care of me.  They fed me with food guaranteed safe by the US Food & Drug Administration.  I didn't pay for that service... someone else did.  but I didn't pay a penny for it... Yet I took advantage of it.

~My life continued this way for years.  Public schools paid for by the taxpayers... some of these tax payers HAD NO KIDS, YET THEY PAID FOR MY EDUCATION!  It was THEIR money but I got the benefit of it.  I paid for none of my education.

~There were several wars when I was growing up.  Other people, not me, went off to fight these wars to keep me safe.  Paid for by OTHER PEOPLE, not ME.  I thank them for their service, but didn't pay a penny for it.

~I went to public parks, played basketball on public play grounds, played little league, youth soccer, etc... but didn't pay a dime.  OTHERS PAID FOR ME.  My mom & dad paid some, they paid their taxes, but no where near enough to cover the services that I used in my youth.  I PAID NOTHING.

~ My selfish life continues... I'm a USER.  I TAKE, but never GIVE.  Now I'm an adult.  It's my time to GIVE... but I heard about these people they call 'LIBERTARIANS'.  They TAKE and never have to GIVE.
They are against paying taxes, like the taxes that funded so much of my youth.
Libertarians  are against any personal responsibility to the greater community... they say NO!  IT'S MINE. They are against  repaying the benefits that I received when I was young and still receive.

~ I now have a job.  I earn MY OWN MONEY.  And I WANT WHAT IS MINE!  I have no responsibility to any one else... just to ME ME ME!   Screw everyone that helped me along the way.  Screw Em!  I want what is MINE!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

The U.S. gov't is supposed to be a gov't of limited powers, although that is almost a joke today--the federal government, particularly Congress, seems to exercise almost plenary powers. The Bill of Rights, which was the first ten amendments to the Constitution, was seen by some of the Framers as completely unnecessary, because they felt that the limited government they set up could not infringe upon those rights anyway. Today, contrary to that view, the rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights seems almost to be the only sphere of liberty left free from federal government power.

The original Constitution intended to create a federal government that was specifically designed to address matters that were essentially federal in nature--such as national defense and interstate commerce, currency, a post office, and so on. The taxing power was also greatly limited. Most police powers (that is, laws directed at the general health, safety, and welfare of people) were supposed to be exercised by the states.

Geez Boxy, to go off like this makes me think you are scared to death of self-reliance.

I consider myself a 'self reliant' person... but I also recognize that I OWE a debt to others in this world.  As a human, and as an American citizen, I owe to the past for what was GIVEN to me and I have a responsibility to the FUTURE for those who will follow.

WOW - Looks like the Pharmacy didn't deliver the meds.  Go to your happy place Box until the meds arrive, calm down... You are misinterpreting the Constitutional Libertarian.  This is a question about the role of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT (BIG GOVERNMENT) in people’s lives.  If state and local governments (small government) want to provide cradle to grave services and social welfare for their citizens, then state and local governments can pass the laws and can pay for them.

Box, is States Rights even in your vocabulary?

Ok, then pay for it.  You can enter into a contract without being forced through legislation.

Holy crap Roxy has really gone over the deep end !

Roxy...

The diagnosis of your 'disease' is called L-I-B-E-R-A-L-I-S-M....so the doctors obviously prescribed the wrong meds....your only hope now is a
lifetime prescription for a powerful sedative.

Go off?  Upset??? Deep end???

I posted my view of Libertarians as it's applied today.  "I got mine, screw everyone else.  "
If you read upset in my posts, it's your mistake.

There are so few who challenge the Right on this board, that any dissent... anyone questioning their agenda, is considered radical.

"Libertarianism in One Lesson", or, "How the rest of the world sees Libertarianism".

http://world.std.com/~mhuben/onelesson.html

My personal favorites:
~ "Taxation is theft because we have a right to squat in the US and benefit from defense, infrastructure, police, courts, etc. without obligation."
And:
~ "Libertarians invented outrage over government waste, bureaucracy, injustice, etc. Nobody else thinks they are bad, knows they exist, or works to stop them."

Another symptom of liberalism Roxy....projectionism....the perpetual tendency of liberals going out of their way to paint
conservatives as radicals when they disagree with you and your liberal bands of useful idiots.

When you get your permanent prescription for those sedatives you should set a permanently regular appointment with the very
patient Henry so he can continue to counsel you on reality.

Gadfly seems to know a lot about prescription drugs, psychosis, and what liberals think... but not much else.

(When they attack you personally, instead of your posts, you know you've struck a nerve.)

Wouldn't it be "I got mine, I don't want yours, and everybody can keep theirs too"?

Box has a warped view on liberties.
