Glenn Beck To O'Reilly: Obama's Ground Zero Visit Was 'Shameless' (VIDEO) First Posted: 05/ 7/11 01:03 PM ET Updated: 05/ 7/11 03:45 PM ET
Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly debated President Obama's trip to Ground Zero during the weekly "At Your Beck And Call" segment on O'Reilly's Friday show.
Beck, who has repeatedly criticized Obama for making the trip in the wake of the killing of Osama bin Laden, voiced that criticism again. "I think it's shameless," he said.
"Really?" O'Reilly said, sounding surprised. "You don't?" Beck responded. "When did you turn into a pansy?"
O'Reilly said that "anything that draws attention to the suffering of the 9/11 families is worthy," and that Obama had been "understated" in his visit. Beck replied that Obama was exploiting "a good political opportunity."
There is enough things we can bash Obama on, this isn't one of them. If he didn't attend people would have blamed him for being heartless. If you want to nail him do it on the gas prices, economy, and our foreign policies, something that effects us all.
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
It's rare that Billy O and I agree on anything but we do on this issue:
"O'Reilly said that "anything that draws attention to the suffering of the 9/11 families is worthy," and that Obama had been "understated" in his visit."

It all depends on the true reason that Obama went to ground zero. If he went to pay tribute to those who lost their lives is good, if he went to campaign for re-election it's bad.

YUP! Just like when GWB went there... but I bet you didn't post that then.

GWB wasn't campaigning for re-election at the time he went to ground zero. Nobody knows why Obama went there except Obama I just hope he went there for the right reason. I didn't care for many of the things GWB did either.
President Obama has "pounded his chest"too much and taken too much pride in the success of the mission to take out Osama bin Laden, according to, of all people, George W. Bush's former Chief of Staff, Andrew Card. ~"I think he has pounded his chest a little too much," Card said. "He can take pride in it, but he does not need to show it so much."~
Andy Card was a top official in the Bush administration noted for its theatrical press events, most notably the decision to have President Bush land a fighter jet on board an aircraft carrier before delivering his famous speech celebrating the invasion of Iraq in front of a giant "Mission: Accomplished" banner.

Fate has a way of humbling us when we get too big for our britches, there are terror cells here in the USA right now plotting how to hit us hard where it hurts. There are a lot of people in the world right now that hate us for killing Bin Laden and they will stop at nothing to kill as many of us as they can.
"Fate has a way of humbling us when we get too big for our britches".
Oh... You mean like when you invade a country, with the job not even half completed, you land on an aircraft carrier and display a HUGE banner that says "Mission Accomplished"! That kind of 'too big for our britches'.

Time will tell if we get hit again and I was referring to us as a nation not Obama or Bush. You really have to get away from everything is Bush's fault. Obama has been President for 2 years it's about time he starts to accept some responsibility for the things that were done on his watch, like unemployment is still at 9%, enormous debt 3 trillion are due to his policies, health-care law which nobody knows if it will really work, only a few drilling permits issued since he became President, and a border that people could drive a tank across and nobody would notice.
we need to stop revisiting it over and over again like being a victim is a good thing.....let's move on it was a bad thing but, a generation from now it will have the same impact as the Kennedy assasination----nothing
it will all be subjective talk of "I remember when." "I was doing, blah blah blah" etc etc.....
unfortunately the world is that kind of neighborhood and the History Channel and likes will paint it in multiple colors of language and we STILL wont know what went on or WHY.....
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
