U.S. drone strike in Yemen is first since 2002

SANAA, Yemen — The U.S. military used a drone to strike Thursday at an al-Qaeda target in Yemen, the first such U.S. attack using unmanned aircraft in that country since 2002, according to U.S. and Yemeni officials.

Two al-Qaeda operatives were killed in the attack in the remote, mountainous Yemeni governorate of Shabwa early Thursday, a Yemeni security official said.

Drones operated by the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command were redeployed in Yemen last year as part of a secret U.S. effort to reinvigorate the hunt for al-Qaeda operatives in the country.

Did we receive UN approval before bombing Yemen?  Was this an illegal military action?

It looks like Obama's success at killing OBL and finding the intel to continue to hunt down Al Qeada is keeping America Safe from terrorists.

God Bless Barack Hussein Obama!

"Executing" is the operative word. Maybe he can send the same great seals to Tripoli, Libya? HINT: They have the oil not Afghanistan.

And he's doing such a fine job of it too!!!

It's a shame that poor old Georgie couldn't handle two wars, while Obama takes on 5.

I bet we're all glad that GWB is history (worst president in history) and we now have a successful president!

God Bless Barack Hussein Obama!

We are at a stalemate in Afghanistan
We are LOSING in Libya
We won in Iraq
Stalemates in Yemen and Pakistan.

So, at best he is 1-1 with 3 ties... not someone I want coaching my team.

Hitler took on 12. By your "logic" he was good too? Every single military involvement is a mess. Libya could have been a turkey shoot but Obama dithered for weeks. Then he hot potatoed to NATO leaving the butcher in power. Another war for oil but the oil will all go to Europe because of his stupidity. Afghanistan is a total mess, record causalities, with no clear mission. Bush turned Iraq around by not listening to the DEMS. Yemen is a fine job? Of what? Another dictator that murders his people and refuses to leave power. Kind like Syria's Assad who incompetent Hillary Clinton termed a "reformer".
