Capturing bin Laden 'would unleash hell' 00:37 AEST Tue Apr 26 2011 7 days 11 hours 53 minutes ago
The mastermind of the 9/11 attacks warned that al-Qaeda has hidden a nuclear bomb in Europe which will unleash a "nuclear hellstorm" if Osama bin Laden is captured, leaked files revealed.
The terror group also planned to make a 9/11 style attack on London's Heathrow airport by crashing a hijacked airliner into one of the terminals, the files showed.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed told Guantanamo Bay interrogators the terror group would detonate the nuclear device if the al-Qaeda chief was captured or killed, according to the classified files released by the WikiLeaks website.
Sheikh Mohammed, the self-professed mastermind of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, has been held at Guantanamo since 2006 and is to be tried in a military court at the US naval base on Cuba over the attacks.
His nuclear threat was revealed in Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper, one of several media outlets which have published the classified assessments of detainees at Guantanamo..............................>>>>........................................>>>>........................................http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/8241119/capturing-bin-laden-would-unleash-hell
Its probably mostly hot air.. AQ knows if they were to use nukes (if they even have them), the game is over. The west will look for them and violate whatever sovereignty they need to.
The only people in those groups willing to die are the foot soldiers. The leaders are hypocrites, illustrated by Bin Deaden's use of a human shield over the weekend.

If they had one they would have detonated it the first chance they got weather Osama was dead or not. Even if they had a warhead they wouldn't be able to detonate it, it's not like you can just toss it over a roof and have it blow.

A dirty bomb and a nuke are 2 different things Box

So far only the USA and the Russians have the technology to make suitcase size nuclear bombs. Weather terrorists have them yet is a matter of conjecture.

I think you are correct though box about the dangers of a dirty bomb, this is something that will most likely be a possibility for them in succeeding in as it really isn't that difficult. The hard part for them would be getting in control of radioactive material but there is a lot around and in places you probably wouldn't believe.
As far as a suitcase nuke goes this was an issue that was addressed after 9/11. Russian nukes weren't really under the best security from what I read but we have been working with them to try to secure/diffuse such weapons. How that is going I'm not to sure, both Bush and Obama made this a priority so I give them both credit for that.
