Church teaching holds that Roman Catholicism and evolutionary theory are not necessarily at odds:
A Christian can, for example, accept the theory of evolution to help explain developments, but is taught to believe that God, not random chance, is the origin of the world.
The Vatican, however, WARNS AGAINST CREATIONISM, or the OVERLY LITERAL INTERPRETATION OF THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT OF CREATION.
(Pope Benedict Easter 2011)

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

We can speculate and/or believe what we want....but......I guess when we die.........we'll either wake up on the other side of 'somewhere', or we will just close our eyes and take our last breath  for the last time and that will be the end!!!
