The New York State Police at Princetown announce the arrest of Reginald E. Holcomb, age 40, New Shaker Road, Colonie, New York for Grand Larceny in the 2nd Degree. Two weeks ago the state police in Princetown were alerted by Sunmark Federal Credit Union in Latham that one of their elderly customers may be the victim of a con artist. A review of the customer’s financial records revealed that since October 2010, over $100,000 had been withdrawn from his account. Acting quickly, troopers identified the individual who accompanied the victim to various banks as the funds were withdrawn. On Monday, April 18, 2011, state police arrested Holcomb, who had befriended the victim at a local OTB parlor. Holcomb was arraigned in the Town of Rotterdam Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. The Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office is working with the state police and the public is asked to contact the state police in Princetown at 518-630-1712 if they know of any similar circumstances involving Holcomb.
