If Obama's plan succeeds an awful lot of people would be left with nothing and that would mean an awful lot of angry people to deal with. This type of action is what causes revolutions all over the world.

Box, I've come to the conclusion that you are so far down on the socioeconomic scale that anybody not qualifying for at least 2 social welfare programs is considered "rich" and you deserve their money.

First of all ... you have no idea where I fit in on your "socioeconomic scale" but I don't consider myself poor or rich.

Rich??? I don't consider a $200,000 a year income "rich", do you?  Well off maybe but certainly not rich.

In a recent poll of millionaires, they look at themselves as "not rich" until after they've accumulated at least $7 million.  Amazing huh when most Americans who hit the lotto for $2 million DO consider themselves among the 'rich'.

For tax purposes I'd guess somewhere around the $250,000 to $400,000 would be where the 'Rich' label kicks in.  A taxable income of $250 to $400K would probably mean taxing a millionaire.  During my lifetime, people in this tax bracket were taxed at over 80%... today those same people's actual tax rate would probably be less than 20%.

The choice is to kick granny and gramps out of their social security or tax millionaires who are getting a free ride.  Not a very difficult choice.

CEO's saw their median pay increase 27%, while average worker increase of just 2%.

Yea!  Lets cut grandma's Social Security... and give another tax cut to the Rich!

That's because most Americans have no concept of money.(like yourself)  If you win $2 million when you're 30 years old, that would be $50K per year until the age of 70.  People win $2 million and think they can quite their jobs and live off of the interest.  They think the economy is static, which it isn't.  There is inflation, taxes, fluxuating markets, fluxuating interest rates.

You still haven't answered the question Box, if taxing the "rich" historically doesn't increase revenue, why do you continue to push it?  Because you hate success that you have never been able to attain?

What does that have to do with tax revenue and shrinking the deficit?  This is what is called class envy.

Cicero is an argument looking for a place to happen.
First he says:
~ "Box, I've come to the conclusion that you are so far down on the socioeconomic scale that anybody not qualifying for at least 2 social welfare programs is considered "rich" and you deserve their money.
Then:
~ "That's because most Americans have no concept of money(like yourself)"

Yup us conservatives are so selfish, how dare we take personal responsibility for our own lives and want to keep the money we work for. Even though conservatives donate 30% more to charities http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=2682730&page=1 than the average liberal it should be done by the redistribution of wealth through the government right Box.

That's because conservatives will reach into their own pockets for a cause...liberals will reach into YOURS.

Nah,,,things are good.  I'm not rich and I don't subscribe to class warfare to justify my lot in life.  I just like pointing out the fact that YOU want to tax the "rich" for the mere purpose of making them as poor as you.  YOU actually posted a graph that proves that taxing the "rich" at 90% doesn't increase revenue any more than if you taxed the "rich" at 39%. and would have NO affect on the national debt.

Admit it Box, YOU HATE SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE.

Again Cicero is an argument looking for a place to happen.  You'll have to have your lil hissy fit by yourself.

A waste of time.

You are so far off on this board.  Gadfly--cute statement about reaching into one's pocket.  Truth is--you saying has no truth to it.  As for the politics of fear--nobody utilizes that better than Cons, Tea Party folks and Reps.  they are the ones who have NO room in their lives for other folks.

Just wondering, as I look at your argument here, who is it that makes the main decisions that keep the company running and profitable?  Also, how many CEO's does each company have?  And the number of "average workers?"  I would bet that the total dollar amount that the CEO would be getting as a raise would be less than the amount that they are paying to their employees, especially if they have a company big enough to have a CEO that doesn't take part in the daily work.  If s/he does, then they deserve the money for doing both the business end, as well as the grunt work that the "average worker" does.

And just a question, who was it that changed it so that social security was payments for a lifetime, versus what it was originally, a one time payment?  Not that it's constitutional either way...

Well I beg to differ Yossi...liberals are the ones engaging in fear tactics in a desperate attempt to derail conservatives....just ask
UpChuck Schumer who was caught telling his socialist friends to bastardize the Tea Party and other conservatives....call them
"extremists"... "radicals"...this is typical for liberals when they have no legitimate response and the facts are not on their side.

The very liberal tendency to redistribute wealth is a perfect example of the many ways liberals reach into the pockets of others....don't
even get me going on entitlements.

Cis...don't expect relevant answers to legitimate questions...this is how all liberals respond to valid points...by warrantless attacks on
the messenger...they wil lnever get it....they will only continue with the same meaningless chatter.
