Facebook event: Let's dump trash at Boehner's pad
hornickewhitehouse2      By: CNN's Ed Hornick

Washington (CNN) - If the federal government shuts down come Friday, House Speaker John Boehner may be in for quite a mess at his Washington, D.C. residence if some Facebook users have their way.

A Facebook event, entitled "If Boehner shuts down the government I am taking my trash to his house," has popped up and is gaining steam as the shutdown showdown ramps up on Capitol Hill. If the federal government shuts down, one of the District's services that will stop is trash pickup.

"Speaker John Boehner is ready to shut down the government, including District of Columbia city services like trash collection," it says on the page. "Well, if he won't allow us to use OUR TAX DOLLARS to pick it up, maybe we should just BRING IT TO HIM."

As of 2:30 p.m. EST there are 1,476 attending; 126 are listed as maybe; 156 aren't showing up; and 4,652 are still making up their minds (much like Congress, apparently).

The trash-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday and apparently will last through June 30.

Organizers of the event - Jonah Goodman and Nolan Treadway - write on the page that even if the government shutdown doesn't occur, they will "move forward with this event, we'll provide details on location(s) and we'll make sure it's done in a sanitary and respectful way. Please don't list any personal addresses for members of Congress on this page."

Goodman is listed in the Democratic National Committee network. Treadway is the political and logistics director for the liberal group Netroots Nation.  http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/07/facebook-event-lets-dump-trash-at-boehners-pad/

Everybody wants to lower taxes and get control of spending. They vote folks in that campaigned on doing just that. And this is what happens when they try to accomplish what the voters voted them in to do.

Everyone doesn't want to "lower taxes"... that's the TeaParty mantra.  I would like everyone to pay their fair share of taxes, and much of the debt would go away.
GE= no taxes
Warren Buffet=lower tax rate than most American Tax Payers
Exxon=no taxes
US millionaires= minimal taxes.

If everyone paid what they paid in the 50's 60's 70's and 80's, there would be little debt and social programs would be funded.
Those with the most income often pay the least taxes... that IS the problem.

Lowering taxes by lowering spending is key.
There is too much pork and too many government entitlements.

There have been loop holes for both the rich and poor for decades and decades and decades!!!
Only until late, with the government's over the top spending spree are people taking notice.

The government has reached it's breaking point.
The first step is to get the government to cut spending and/or reform entitlements and all of this useless pork barrel spending.

Oh the poor, poor souls that think government programs make them safe and secure.  We have liberals agreeing the with big business bank bailouts, the bailout of our big business auto industry, and huge subsidies for big business General Electric, all in the name of preventing the end of the world.

Tea Party mantra would have preferred that those "evil" big businesses and banks FAIL for their poor business practices.  But liberal Democrat and Republican alike created panic to steal a trillion dollars from the treasury.  While Obama travels to Brazil with his buddy "Jeff", that we find out they paid ZERO in corporate taxes, and the sheeple continue to baaaaaaah,,,and not their heads and hang on his every word.  Now they're creating the "government shutdown" panic, as if it's the end of the world.  Get a grip

Just the top 5 US Corporations avoided paying over $23 billion dollars in taxes.  Many then took tax credits paid for by the taxpayers... US!
  On top of "corporate welfare", the US working men and woman, who have no choice but to pay our fair share of tax, fund these corporations subsidies.

Tax Cuts???
First I want Tax reform where EVERYONE and EVERY Corporation pays their required TAX.

See, I found out they wanted to defund PP, defund NPR, cut earmarks across the board, and wipe out that 2000+ page legislation known as Obamacare, it actually gave me a warm tingly feeling.

Nope MT... NO NPR or Obama care here.  The US Government will apparently be shut down because of the Right Wing demanding to defund Planned Parenthood.  Everything else has been settled.

I say good...And I'm going to bet dollars to doughnuts, the majority of America agrees and really don't give a sh!t about PP funding.  And please box, don't show me some skewed public opinion poll.  Anybody with common sense knows public opinion polls don't measure public opinion but attempt to shape public opinion.

If the government shuts down tonight, I will wake up tomorrow, and the sun will still rise and I will be happier than I've been all year.  Americans need to realize, a government shut down isn't a catastrophic event.  Things will be ok.  People outside the 2 parties are sick of the blame game.  Fix the f'n problem, cut f'n spending and manage our limitied federal government.

Bottom line is the Dems controlled the House, Senate and the Whitehouse and failed to pass a budget for 2010 because of their politics and most of the blame for any shut down is their fault.

Shhhhh....Don't remind people.  Americans are supposed to have forgotten about that.  Dems are going to their bread and butter of GOP is killing grandma, starving kids, limiting women's reproductive rights, and I'm sure racism is coming next.   Programs they could have funded if they passed the 2011 budget while they controlled both houses and the white house if they really cared about these issues.  Aren't people sick of being used as political pawns so bureaucrats can stay in power?

If Nancy, Harry, and Barrack really cared about all these things they now suddenly care about, why didn't they pass the budget before January 1, 2011?

FIRST...............I want the government to show some responsible constraint and cut the spending, reform or cut the entitlements and bring pork barrel spending under control!!! That is what they were voted in to do! So I don't care if the gov't has to shut down....just DO IT!!!
