Gasoline up 100% under Obama

Feeling pain at the pump? Gas prices have doubled since Mr. Obama took office. According to the GasBuddy gasoline price tracking web site, the price of a gallon of regular gas was around $1.79 when Mr. Obama took office. Today the national average is $3.58. The lowest average price in the continental United States is $3.31 in Tulsa Oklahoma, the highest is $4.14 in Santa Barbara, CA. Four-dollar-a-gallon gas has arrived on average throughout California, and a number of other states are headed in that direction.

Consumer price index (CPI) figures from February show an unadjusted 12 month gasoline inflation rate of 19.2%, but in the last month alone prices jumped 6.8%, probably because of oil price increases due to instabilities in the Middle East. If the trend continues, gas prices would double again within a year. 100% gasoline price inflation is nothing to brag about, but imagine Mr. Obama going into the 2012 election having to explain why gas costs $7.00 a gallon. I'm sure the White House would spin it as one of their "Green" initiatives.

The price of gasoline is a serious problem, hopefully Obama can do a better job of stabilizing the price than his predecessor.

The fact of the matter is that this has been an on going problem since the early 70's, and NOTHING has changed.

And as long as this country is not willing to explore and develop the natural resources we have here, then it is what it is. Belly up and pay!

The environmentalists and the alarmists have it all wrapped up!

What if there's an oil spill?
What if there's an earthquake?
What if there's a meltdown?
What if there's a tsunami?
What if there's a hurricane?
What if it's too hot?
What if it's too cold?
What if the wind is/isn't blowing?
What if it snows?
Coal isn't clean
Wood isn't clean.
Gas is dangerous.

Oil is  king and always will.............especially from the middle east.
The middle east must have a 'better quality' of oil, huh?
So instead of us drilling for our own oil, hell, we'll just invade the countries that do and take over theirs!!!

(A side note)
As a matter of fact Bumble, some countries DO have a better quality of oil.
It's called "Light Sweet Crude" oil.

Light Sweet Crude:
Sweet crude oil is a type of petroleum. Petroleum is considered "sweet" if it contains less than 0.5% sulfur, compared to a higher level of sulfur in sour crude oil. Sweet crude oil contains small amounts of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide. High quality, low sulfur crude oil is commonly used for processing into gasoline and is in high demand, particularly in the industrialized nations. "Light sweet crude oil" is the most sought-after version of crude oil as it contains a disproportionately large amount of these fractions that are used to process gasoline (naphtha), kerosene, and high-quality diesel (gas oil).

Producers of sweet crude oil:
The Appalachian Basin Eastern North America
The Bakken Formation of North Dakota, Montana, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Some Mid-Continent Oil Field United States: (Louisiana Sweet) and (West Texas Intermediate Texas Light Sweet).
The North Sea area of Northern Europe: Norway and United Kingdom (Brent Crude).
Iraq, Libya and Algeria. Nigeria.Ghana  Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Angola.
Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, India, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand.

It's always about oil.  All those dead American kids and countless others in Iraq and Afghanistan all for oil--or as you will remember the weapons of mass deception.

I don't recall seeing any oil wells in Afghanistan. All I see is a bunch of worthless rocks.

Anyway...Obama's just protecting his oil buddies
After all, that was the excuse last time..

Couldn't be anything to do with world events, speculation, and demand, could it?

-  yes Afghanistan has a lot of rocks AND  farmers that have enough poppy plantations to make it the worlds # 1 heroin supplier- which they  then sell to the United States so they can get the money to buy the bullets and weapons to kill us with.

Americas war on drugs ?  just say no ? really ?

Gas was $1.80 a gallon when Obama was sworn in. He couldn't pass a single energy bill last year, when the DEMS controlled both houses of Congress. Stop blaming Bush for an incompetent that makes the dollar worthless and wants to increase ethanol to 15%. 40% of US corn production is going into ethanol. Another war of oil Yossi? Where's the oil? Obama started a third Middle East war and we still haven't gotten a free gallon. Libya unlike Afghanistan actually has oil but Obama likes higher gasoline prices.

I remember paying 4.04 under Bush.

Cicero--some gas station owners are only making .02 a gallon.  You don't know what you are talking about.  This is no windfall for independent gas station retailers.

Box you need a new graph because of the Obama "stabilization". Straight up for 3 years. We don't need stabilization-we need a price decrease. Announce an opening of US reserves like evil Bush did. Naah, Obama prefers to dither and is too busy working on his golf game.
