As a 60's liberal hippie Democrat, are you forced to support Obama at all costs and give nuanced double speak answers about war?

A 60's Hippie Democrat???  Really Cicero???  You do have a great imagination don't you.  Do these hallucinations just pop into your head, or are you on some 60's hippie drugs???

Your assumptions are really funny!!!  But quite inaccurate.

Shadow...
Did I cheer on the war???
I understood the danger of WMD'S in Iraq, and could have justified some limited action there.  Once the world found out there never were any WMD'S and GWB's Oil War was all lies right from the start, like most Americans, I turned against the Iraq war.

Libya?  A revolution by Libya's own people... not a US invasion, which I opposed.  A limited use of US Air Power and surveillance to assist the removal of a Terrorist.

With Qaddafi and Hussein,  the world is a better (and safer) place with them out of power.  My comparison was about how eliminating these threats were accomplished.  One a total and continuing disaster, still not settled, the other a huge success.

It is fun to watch this boards Conservatives grasp at any possible issue in an attempt to justify The Failed Bush Oil War, and at the same time it's entertaining to watch them take the side of terrorist Muammar al-Gaddafi!

There isn't a sliver of difference between GWB's 'evil dictator' Saddam, and Gaddafi... yet the boards Conservatives are turning themselves inside out taking sides with one and condemning the other.  A very bi polar view!

The 60's generation would certainly be in favor of the war in libya or anywhere else in the world for that matter. That generation went down in history as being the FIRST GLOBALISTS!!! Which again just proves that the state this country is in today is a direct result of the last generation. This is the results of their agenda from over FIFTY YEARS AGO!! Today's generation thanks them!

Libya, Iraq etc......just like vietnam.....WE HAD NO BUSINESS BEING THERE!! They say that it is done in the name of peace/revolution....just like they tried to sell the vietnam war to the people.

Libya is being sold as a 'peace/revolution' war...........bullcrap!!! That statement just validates the vietnam war.

Not to mention that little Gulf of Tonkin lie to get us in Vietnam.

All we are saying is that we should have stayed out of Libya and away from the revolution or civil war as it was non of our business. We have been listening to the liberals for years tell us to stay out of the Arab countries because that's why the terrorists attack us but now it's OK to intervene because we have a liberal president, can you say hypocrite

Same with the Iran fiasco. Carter was the pres then. We had no business there either.

40 years Gaddafi is in power...Buying weapons from the same European nations that are removing him from power.lol...Yeah...A revolution alright...When did Gaddafi become such a threatening terrorist?  After he signed the agreements to give up his nuclear ambitions and the UN lifted sanctions on Libya in 2003?  Or did he become a terrorist after Scotland released the Lockerbie bomber in return for British Petroleum contracts signed for Libyan Oil?  It's really tough to pinpoint when the West recognized Gaddafi as a terrorist as you are claiming he is.  The West has done A LOT of business with Gaddafi over the past 40 years, and it looks like the West is scrambling to get contracts in place as they divide up Libyan resources after the "REVOLUTION".

I got it...How about this?  He became a terrorist when he stood up in front of the UN Security Council and started pointing out all the illegitimate wars that were fought by UN Security Council nations against other UN members.  Basically mocking the very existence of the United Nations formation for peace when it actually caused MORE war and that the few Security Council nations control the world and have the ability and a history of destroying sovereign nations..

This speech challenges the American Empire. It challenges the West. It challenges the dominance of a few major powers. The West wants to suppress this kind of thinking. The West is suppressing this kind of thinking. The West is in the process of removing Gaddafi and replacing him with their puppets. That is why NATO is bombing Libya. The West is attacking Gaddafi to reduce the influence of his ideas among other nations.

The West cannot put up with a leader who says

"It should not be called the Security Council. It should be called the ‘Terror Council’.

"The American presidents used to say to us, they shall terrorize us....And we shall lead the world, and we shall punish anyone whether they like it or not. We shall punish anyone who will be against us.

"Then we come to the Suez Canal war in 1956. The file should be opened. Why three countries who have permanent seats in the Security Councils enjoyed the right, the veto of the Security Council's attack, a member state in this General Assembly?

"A country that is Egypt in this case, that was a sovereign state, was attacked and the army was destroyed. And thousands of Egyptian people were killed, and towns, villages were destroyed.

"How could such a thing happen during the era of the United Nations? And how can we guarantee that such a thing will not be repeated unless we redeem the past?

"And this is a very dangerous thing. The Suez Canal war, the Korean War, we should open the files.

"And then we come to the Vietnam War. Three million victims of the Vietnam War. During 11 days, bombs were used more than the bombs used during the whole war. And during the Second World War, all the shells and the bombs that were used, or bombed during the four years of the war, the bombs that were used in the 12 days were more than.

"This was a fierce war. And this war took place after the establishment of the United Nations. And we decided that there would be no wars.

"This is the future of the mankind, and we cannot keep quiet. How can we be how can we be safe? How can we feel accomplished? How can we feel complacent, I mean. This is the future of the world and this is the General Assembly of the world, and we have to make sure that such wars will not be repeated in the future.

"Then Panama was attacked, even though it was an independent state, a member state of the General Assembly, of the United Nations. And 4,000 peoples were killed, and the president of this country was taken as a prisoner and was taken put in prison.

"And Noriega should be released, and we should open the file. And how we give the right to a country that is a member state of the United Nations to go and wage a war against a country and take the president of such a country and take him as a criminal and put him in prison? Who would accept that?

"This may be repeated. And we should not be quiet, and we should make investigations, and we should each one of us may face the same destiny. Each member state of us may face the same, especially if this aggression is made by a member state that is has a member seat in the Security Council and supposed to look and maintain the world peace security.

"Then we have the Grenada war. This country was attacked, was invaded even though it was a member state, by 7,000 - 5,000 warships and using 7,000 troops. It is the smallest country in the world.

"And after the establishment of the Security Council, after the establishment of the United Nations, and the (inaudible). And the president of this country, Maurice Bishop, was assassinated. How this can be done with impunity? This is a tragedy.

"And then how can we guarantee that the United Nations is good or not, that the Security Council is good enough? Can we be safe and happy about our future or not? Can we trust the Security Council or not? Can we trust the United Nations or not?

"Then we have to check and investigate the bombing of Somalia.

"Somalia was a member state of the United Nations. It is an independent country. And (inaudible).

"Why? Who allowed that? Who gave the green light for such a country to attack to be attacked?

"Then the Yugoslav war. No country that is peaceful country like Yugoslavia, that was built that was built step by step, piece by piece, after it was destroyed by Hitler. We destroy it as if we are doing the same job like Hitler.

"Hitler after the death of Tito and he built this country step by step and brick by brick, and then we come and dismember it for imperialist personal interests. How can we be satisfied? How can we be happy? If a peaceful country like Yugoslavia faced this tragedy, the General Assembly should make investigations and the General Assembly should decide who should be tried for the (inaudible).

"Then we come to the Iraqi war, the mother of all evils. The United Nations also should investigate.

"The General Assembly presided by (inaudible) should be investigated by the General Assembly, the invasion of Iraq itself. This was in violation of the United Nations charter without any justifications made by several countries who have member seats in the Security Council.

"Iraq is an independent country, member in this General Assembly. How this country is attacked and how this country how we have already read in the general in the in the charter that the United Nations should have interfered and stopped."

Bumble has a warped sense of history.  He quotes "the 60's generation" as if that's one view.
Members of Bumbles 60's generation:
Dick Cheney
Ralph Nader
Al Sharpton
George W Bush
Jesse Jackson
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Colon Powell
Bill O'Reilly
Dustin Hoffman
Karl Rove
Sean Penn
Antonin Scalia
Al Gore

Bumbles '60's or 70's generation is hardly a Liberal group, or conservative group, but like most, a blend of politics, views and values.
Bumble likes to group people into his view of the world... He never lets 'facts' get in his way.

The gig is up box...Nobody is buying that those people listed are a "blend" of "conservative" and "liberal".  They are all big government, big corporation, globalists.  Opposite sides of the same coin as they say.

Ron Paul???
Ron Paul is a Republican.  As anti choice as most Republicans... as Anti worker as any Republican... As anti health care as most Republicans, as anti American as most Republicans...

With the exception of his war views, he's just one more of a long list of Republicans.  He's on half of those "opposite side of the same coin" you mentioned.

anti worker, means what?
anti health care, means what?
anti american, means what?

it's not up to a bunch of bullies to help you keep your job
it's not up to a bunch of 'loving' friends to tell you what to eat/smoke/drink nor is it their responsibility to 'fix' you
it's also not up to a single leader in America to tell us what America is

Jihadists plot to take over Libya
By Bill Gertz
The Washington Times

Sunday, September 4, 2 011                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Jihadists among the Libyan rebels revealed plans last week on the Internet to subvert the post-Moammar Gadhafi government and create an Islamist state, according to U.S. intelligence agencies.

U.S. officials said spy agencies are stepping up surveillance of Islamist-oriented elements among Libyan rebels. A government report circulated Tuesday said extremists were observed “strategizing” on Internet forums about how to set up an Islamist state in Libya after the regime of Col. Gadhafi is defeated.

“Several forum participants have suggested that, following a transitional stage, the battle should turn against secularist rebels and members of the [rebels’] Transitional National Council,” the unclassified report stated.

Some U.S. officials sought to play down the remarks by noting that such Internet postings are not always accurate measures of jihadist plans.

The report said the jihadists’ strength and influence on the ground “are uncertain at this time.”

However, the report said the jihadist plotting coincided with the high-profile emergence of Abu Abdallah al-Sadiq, a former leader of the al Qaeda-linked Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) and now a leading rebel. He is currently known as Abdel Hakim al-Khulidi Belhaj and led rebels in overrunning Col. Gadhafi’s Tripoli compound.

A U.S. official familiar with intelligence reports on the region said there are concerns that some LIFG members remain committed to al Qaeda and others may be temporarily renouncing their ties to the terrorist group for “show.”

“Some members of LIFG in the past had connections with al Qaeda in Sudan, Afghanistan or Pakistan, and others dropped their relationship with al Qaeda entirely,” the official said.

“It seems - from their statements and support for establishing a democracy in Libya - that this faction of LIFG does not support al Qaeda. We’ll definitely be watching to see whether this is for real or just for show.”

A defense official familiar with jihadist strategy said Islamists likely will emerge in power from the turmoil expected after the demise of the Gadhafi regime and the West will be partly to blame.

“We’re helping pave the way for them” through NATO airstrikes and other support, he said.

About 1,000 jihadists are operating covertly in Libya, Noman Benotman, a former Libyan al Qaeda member, told The Washington Times in March.

According to a translation of the forum exchanges, Libyan Islamists view the fall of Tripoli to rebels as the initial phase of a battle to take over the country.

Jihadists were urged to prepare for the next stage in the battle: taking on secular rebels and the interim National Transitional Council, sometimes called the Transitional National Council, the secular political organization that is mainly pro-democratic.

The jihadists want to set up an Islamist state ruled by Shariah law.

Libyan rebels round up black Africans

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) — Rebel forces and armed civilians are rounding up thousands of black Libyans and migrants from sub-Sahara Africa, accusing them of fighting for ousted strongman Moammar Gadhafi and holding them in makeshift jails across the capital.
Virtually all of the detainees say they are innocent migrant workers, and in most cases there is no evidence that they are lying. But that is not stopping the rebels from placing the men in facilities like the Gate of the Sea sports club, where about 200 detainees — all black — clustered on a soccer field this week, bunching against a high wall to avoid the scorching sun.
