1.Sorry, but my patience have been shorter and shorter lately, but if I ask enough times, I get an answer. I appreciate you finally getting back to these points. Now, on your answer...
2.Iraq: Changing the names of the troops is what he did to make sure there were no more "combat troops." Same boots on the ground. It doesn't matter that it sounds like an episode of Dragnet, "the names have been changed to protect the innocent."
3.Afghanistan: "In progress" means that his goal has not been met. Fail.
4.Gitmo: Glad you see that this wasn't done, and won't be done, since he would be absolutely foolish to do what he originally stated he was going to do, bringing the terrorists back to the scene of the crime to be tried.
5.Tax cut for the middle class: When did you get the new tax cut that Obama wrote into law? And how much of that tax cut is going to pay for the unconstitutional National Health Care? You do realize there was another try at national health care before and we have Medicare and Medicaid because of those, both epic failures, so we look to expand the program (both sides of the aisle are guilty of this, as it was the Republican administration who brought us CHIPS. The expansion of these programs will just be reaching further into Peter's pocket to pay Paul.
As per Margaret Thatcher, "the problem with Communism is that eventually, you run out of other people's money."
Response:
1.I find it amazing that posters not only DEMAND a response to their posts, but demand it on their schedule.
2.It's not the 'same boots on the ground'. Combat troops in units left the war zone. The mission that was counter insurgency is over. New military units entered the war zone. The mission and the troops changed from 140,000 COMBAT TROOPS to less than 50,000 TRAINING AND SECURITY TROOPS.
Look at the casualties... if combat missions were continuing, the casualties would be continuing at the same (Bush) rate.
3.Aghanistan fail? Fail? Possibly. That remains to be seen.
Ending two of George Worst Bush's failed wars, in a little over 2 years, is not an easy thing to do. Neither war was Obama policy, but ending them was part of the Bush legacy of failure. I wish Obama luck in extracting US forces from Afghanistan. I doubt that war will end in "victory" as "victory" was never a goal of this war. The purpose of this war was "To Get Bin Laden" (another Bush Failure).
Unlike Conservatives, I haven't forgotten Bin Laden.
What does GWB have to say about Bin Laden???
~"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
~"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)
4. Gitmo
Gitmo will eventually be closed. The Bush policy of "rendition" that hired countries like Egypt to do our torturing for us has also ended. As yet, Gitmo is a Obama failure.
5.Taxes
Obama cut taxes. That IS a fact. Even joining the Republicans to give Millionaires a tax cut instead of a tax increase.
The rest of Kevin's post goes off subject into a rant about health care, meidcare, Margaret Thather and Communism.
