Go Boxy. You are right on target. Good for you. The rest of you can't take it because you know he's right. Reminding about Bush is not a fall-back position. It is the truth. Your man Bush squandered every ounce of good will that was extended to this country.
The Bush obsession never ceases to amaze me...the USA has always been the dominant provider of 'good will'...no country on earth has extended more 'good will' than the USA...not even close...through all Presidents...but you could probably list the offers of 'good will' to the US on a miniature stick-up note.
First, you suggest reading a book by the highest decorated marine in history. Who after 30 years of service and deployed to every war theater during his time.....collectively states that ALL wars are for the benefit big business......including oil back then! Bashing Bush more than ANY OTHER war time president or any other president's administration seems a bit misguided from you.
Your posts are more 'globalistic' in appreciation and theory. If this were not true, you wouldn't be commending obama for the direction he is leading this country.....which is global.
You just can't be that blind sided to not see that EVERY SINGLE ADMINISTRATION past and present has been a part of the plan for globalization. Dem or rep, peace time or war time. Now if you support globalization, aka one world order, one world bank, one world currency, one world religion, than I can understand your views.
But you are all over the map........ UNLESS, there is something more 'personal' with bush's war....perhaps?
May I suggest a book........THE RISE OF THE FOURTH REICH, by Jim Marrs. Perhaps that book will give you a broader view of what is REALLY going on in American, and the world, and has been for decades. Obama, Bush II, Clinton, Bush I, Reagan...they are just small players in this big arena....REALLY!! They are almost insignificant.
There are many many behind the scenes hands in this 'global pot'. All with the same motivated end result, passed down from generation to generation.
Read the book, I think you will like it, or at least will offer you another way of thinking.

You are absolutely right BT...they are all players in the decades long march to global Communism...a World Order...and Obama has advanced this cause faster than any American President since the adoption of the UN Charter...the worst thing that ever happened to this country....along with the Federal Reserve.
Read "The Shadows of Power" by James Perloff...it will document everything you are saying...and then some. Roxy would be stunned to find out that liberals are merely useful idiots in advancing this agenda.
Why don't you people put your books down and look around you. You absolutely cannot deny that bush took this country down with the help of Cheney. After 9 11 the world extended immense goodwill until the cowboy in the white house decided to take us to war unjustly. And you fools want only to blame Obama. Stop rewriting histiory
Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in 1990,, Hussein had a planned assassination against former President George HW Bush, which in 1993 Bill Clinton responded by firing 23 Tommahawk Cruise Missiles at the Iraqi Intelligence Service. Saddam Hussein has history of gassing Kurds with chemical weapons. Iraq violated UN resolution 1441 in 2002 - UN does not move to enforce the resolution. These were the fact weighed one year after WTC was hit in what was the worst terror attack in U.S. history. So these are the factual reasons why America decided to take military action against Iraq and you people think Obama's reason to fly planes and risk the lives of our pilots(which one was shot down) and fire Tommahawk Cruise Missiles into Libya in support of a rag tag bunch or rebels and for humanitarian reasons, is a more justified reason because SOME in the UN support the actions and because he's a democrat? It is a sad day in America when people are unable to separate their political bias from reality.
Quoted Text
Few Americans see Obama as strong military leader Only 17 percent of Americans see President Barack Obama as a strong and decisive military leader, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll taken after the United States and its allies began bombing Libya.
"It is a sad day in America when people are unable to separate their political bias from reality. " You said it--and this would reply to you Reps on this board. Bush took this country down in very facet--the only issue you stood on that was even worth talking about was that of immigration. The country is at war=Bush. The country is broke=Bush. Suicides among I and A wars=Bush. Thousands of Iraiis DEAD and Afghanis DEAD NOT TO MENTION OUR OWN KIDS=Bush. WE are hated in the world=Bush. Snap out of it!
That darn Bush snuck into the White House and made Obama spend 5 trillion dollars since he was elected, Bush forced Obama to attack Libya, Bush forced Obama to shove Obamacare down our throats that will cost us all more money for health-care, and finally Bush forced Obama to break all his promises he made to the taxpayer like if you like your health-care you can keep it, no tax increases on anyone making under $250,000, close Gitmo, and I'll use all types of energy available. That darn Bush has got to go.
Did you really think Obama could clean up in two years the mess that Bush made in eight year? And make no mistake I am against our going into Libya and the new healthcare doesn't work for ME or my business. BUT I still would take O over anybody you have to put up--oh wait you have no candidates on the national level. Is Buchanan the head of that party too?

The 'mess' America faces has been building for decades Boomer...and btw, more millions of people have been slaughtered at the hands of their own 'leaders' in peacetime than in all wars combined throughout history.
Yes...I think Buchanan is the National Republican Chairman now...LMAO.
Did you really think Obama could clean up in two years the mess that Bush made in eight year?
No? Did you expect Obama to continue the Bush doctrine of preemptive strikes(Libya) and the continuation of Iraq AND the escalation of Afghanistan? How about Gitmo, that's still open. Oh,,,by the way, he ran up $2 TRILLION in debt in 421 days. I am no defender of GWB, but the kid gloves which BHO gets handled with is shameful. And for boomer, who I used to believe was intellectually honest to be falling back into the Bush/Republican - BAD and Obama/Democrat - GOOD is more proof of the danger we face in America. Party loyalist refuse to honestly look at the current state of America and have the honest debate without falling back on cheerleading for their party. So boomer and box how's this, I believe Bush was BAD, but I also believe Obama is the same and just as BAD. We are facing a fiscal crisis in this country of epic proportion, and many of our elected officials are ignoring and are offering window dressing for solutions, because they don't have the political courage to let their constituents know the grim reality of years of fiscal irresponsibility by BOTH PARTIES.
Senator Rand Paul and a few others in Congress are the only leaders addressing the core issue facing America. We spend WAY TOO MUCH and produce very very little as a nation. America had a 20 year run of having access to cheap money as a result of being granted the right of being the worlds reserve currency. We pay our debts not by increasing our nation production and wealth, but instead by turning on the printing presses and SPENDING MORE!
America's arrogant fiscal policies are more problematic than America's foreign policies. It's only a matter of time before the nations of the world take away our status as the reserve currency and collapse our way of life as we know it. But let's get back to "Bush is BAD and Obama is GOOD" conversation.

Where to begin
Saddam was a bad a$$, we all agree. The reason he was able to become such a bad a$$ is that he was trained and supported by the USA as long as he fought our enemy, Iran. Reagan/Rumsfled supplied Saddam with weapons, chemical agents (WMD'S), and most important, satellite intelligence about his enemies. We create these "Trusted Allies/Evil Dictators" and love em when they use Poison Gas against Iran, but we hate em when they use it against the Kurds. The components for the gas and the technology to produce it was 100% American supplied. As long as Saddam was gassing Iranians, we looked the other way when Saddam gassed his internal enemies, the Kurds.
Now we add the Conservative Propaganda... Sept 11th!
As every American knows (and knew when we invaded Iraq) Saddam had NOTHING to do with the Sept 11th attacks. NOTHING! Conservatives love to link Saddam with the WTC attack, but to do so is a lie. There is NO Iraq-AlQaeda connection. But it sure sells well in any Right Wing Blog! For some reason, even though many Conservatives are otherwise reasonable people, they will ALWAYS connect the Iraq war with the WTC attack. It seems to be a Conservative genetic flaw!
To continue, although stating facts is really useless, lets watch Conservatives get red in the face as their anger and indignity builds as they shout: Saddam Ignored UN Resolutions!!! Um... Check it out... Do you know how many UN Resolutions the USA has ignored??? I know, this will just confuse them, but if they justify an invasion because of 'ignored UN resolutions" doesn't that also apply against the USA as well? No of course not!

Bumble, you see global conspiracy everywhere... I don't. I see every administration as seperate and distinct, and none IMO aim at a global government. One world order, one bank, one currency, one religion... nope not me.
But you are all over the map........ UNLESS, there is something more 'personal' with bush's war....perhaps?
Bumble, YES there is something PERSONAL with the Iraq war. It was totally unnecessary & contrived. It killed My Friends, My Brothers, My Children, My Parents, My Neighbors. I take every American casualty PERSONALLY!
As an American I am as responsible for allowing this war, as GWB is for creating it.
~As an American citizen, I am protected by US Military force when needed. That is the obligation of the military. ~ As an American Citizen, I have the responsibility to protect our US military force from unnecessary or optional wars. That is the obligation of every citizen. In the case of the Iraq war, the military fulfilled it's obligation... the American citizens didn't. It IS personal.

Then I again suggest the book......THE RISE OF THE FOURTH REICH by Jim Marrs. I read the book you suggested and it was an eye opener for me. Read this one, if for nothing else, it may reinforce yours.
Don't get caught up in mico-managing the small stuff. There is a much larger game in play!
It will most definitely prove that every administration is NOT separate and distinct and is backed up with facts. They are ALL part of the same end result. We are just the pawns in the game!

Hmmm...Where to begin? Wait, no sense, since you missed the point of the post. I was taking the evidence of Hussein's aggressive posture and his DIRECT violations of the purist of pure UN regulations AND his plotted assassination of a U.S. President(one for which I'm sure you supported since it was a Republican). And I was contrasting that with risking the lives of American soldiers and waste of American treasure in this "kinetic military action" to support unknown rebel forces to take down a dictator that has half the wrap sheet of Saddam Hussein. Where's the out cry from the lefties? Nobody is crying about over extending our troops, nobody is doing the puff pieces of soldiers husbands and wives and children on how they want their loved ones back and out of harms way.
I DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT THE WORLD THINKS ABOUT AMERICAN LEADERSHIP! The socialist/communist world supports our new socialist/communist president - WHAT A FU(KING SURPRISE!
