Aaaahem...Who compared a women's girl private to "plumbing" first?

Thank you.

Actually Salon.com did.  But they compared :
Rand Paul is pro-choice for toilets
The senator gives a stunning rant against energy efficiency -- and reproductive choice...

I think it was Cicero who compared the female reproductive parts to "SEWERS"!

So Henry, if you are so pro-personal responsibility... what do you have to say about funding birth control for the poor?  If a man or woman has the choice between birth control or groceries... groceries will usually win.  If it proved to lower the number of unplanned pregnancies and abortions, would you support tax dollars for low income birth control? ( A few dollars for birth control or family planning help might save a large number of abortions.)

No I wouldn't but I would be in favor of people donating their money to groups they believe could help out costs or awareness.

Henry,
I understand that many Americans don't want their tax dollars to fund programs they morally disagree with... I feel the same way about funding America's wars.  I would much rather my tax dollars went to something productive than to something destructive, especially the Iraq war.

It seems that Americans who oppose abortion could make some real progress if instead of attacking a woman once she IS pregnant, they focus their attempts to PREVENT pregnancies that will be aborted.

Planned Parenthood's main function is birth control and family planning services, not abortion.

If all those who fund the Anti Choice movement instead funded their own Family Planning movement, the number of abortions could be cut to a bare minimum.

If both the Left and the Right want abortions in America to be RARE, then lets both work toward that goal by preventing unwanted pregnancy.

Funding the poor - when you consider the average take home pay of most who live in Schenectady alot are considered in the poverty range.

Funding the poor-I can understand helping those in a dire financial crisis  BUT I cannot understand paying tax dollars for anyone to live off the system for years or their whole life.

Medicaid fraud is rampant. Food stamps being sold for drugs.

You go into price chopper and carefully shop for items because you are paying cash and you cut coupons to save also.

But then the person ahead of you is loaded up with one or two shopping carts with the finest meats and high priced items and only have to swipe a  card .....

I'm also against taxpayer funded abortions and birth control.  The problem is the government has made it too EASY for people to not have to worry about consequences.

There is an option to abortion, its called adoption.

Also something called "not having sex" if you are not ready to be a parent.

I Don't know that. Women I know are far more pro-life than me, including my wife. And I thinbk abortion is a pretty foul thing. Yeah the rich have always had abortions, that is true. But the middle class has in the pass held the moral compass for every society since Rome. Not anymore.

I think the definitions of the use of the lingo pro-choice/pro-life is all wrong for the conversation.....just because I am pro-choice
doesn't mean one actually HAS to do it....and do all pro-life folks deny the death penalty too? or the removal of feeding tubes/vents
etc.....

the pro-life folks believe that the option of having an abortion means that everyone who does is a killer and would do it over and over
and over and over and over again and that they are the crazy killers of the new age.....are they willing to step up and raise the
baby born so that girl/lady/woman can get out of poverty? I'm not going to do that...we already complain about welfare and the likes...
there's a billboard in schenectady that says "dont be malnourished get wic"....WTH.....so are we going to have the argument about
how that person shouldn't have brought a baby into the world under such circumstances? It just is that personal and no matter what
it isn't that easy and this ain't mamby-pamby land...never has been and never will be....so when the pro-life folks figure out that not
everyone has cushy choices and this isn't utopia then maybe we can move on...and maybe we could add on vasectomy to the
baby-daddy when the abortion is performed....

Do you have any take home pay figures for Schenectady?

Do you have statistics on numbers of people living off the system for their whole life?

Any facts on the amount of Medicaid dollars being used fraudulently? The percentage of food stamps being traded for drugs?

Anecdotal. Trust me, you don't see most of the people who are using food stamps. They aren't going to the big Price Chopper on Altamont, they going to the overpriced corner markets within walking distance because they don't have a car.

Of course this is anecdotal like most of your assertions, but I know of three families who have either adopted children or have cared for foster children long-term, and all of them would be described as Democrat or left-leaning. Funny that I always hear about adoption from the right though, even though their leaders are the ones who would sooner cut support for low-income families than tax the rich.

Can you please post your phone number so everyone out there who is not married and is about to have sex can give you a call to talk them down?

Medicaid fraud in NY

http://www.kemphannon.com/article.php?article=221

In December, the state Comptroller released the results of an audit
that identified as much as $92 million in Medicaid overpayments, billing
errors and other problems.  He called on the state Department of Health to
increase scrutiny of Medicaid payments and recover improperly made
payments.  The Department agreed there were overpayments, but said it would
only try to recover $2.4 million in overpayments.

In addition, a 2008 report in the New York Post cited an audit by the
New York State Comptroller’s Office, that determined that nearly 30,000
people in New York City alone were improperly enrolled in the State’s
Medicaid system between November 2006 and November 2007. While the audit
shows that almost 13,000 former New York City residents should have been
investigated for violations of the State’s Medicaid laws, only 207 cases
were investigated.

A report last fall by the federal Government Accountability Office
(GAO) focused on Medicaid fraud related to prescription medication.  The
report studied New York and four other states.  The GAO faulted New York
for “not having a comprehensive fraud prevention framework to prevent fraud
and abuse of controlled substances paid for by Medicaid.”  The GAO report
concluded that the cost associated with Medicaid fraud and abuse of
controlled substances may be more than the cost of legal prescription drug
purchases covered by Medicaid.

wpjmurray-I'm not saying everyone who is on assistance abuses the system, just venting about personal experiences. More then a few times when entering a small store on albany st. or the stewarts on nott terrace I have been approached and asked to go into the store and pick out my food purchases and they would buy them with their card and then i was to give them an amount in cash outside the store.

I've written before of a relative who has been on assistance all of his life, he is in his late 40's and he doctor shops is on numerous medications and then he sells the controlled substances to feed his drug and alcohol addiction. Now I find out his partner is also getting welfare and has applied for SSI also. These are two able bodied men who know how to WORK the system. They have gotten thrown out of many apartments due to fighting and police involvement, but then welfare moves them again and again. They are getting their rent paid, their heat paid, get food stamps, they have NO worries other than their next high.

Read the papers abuse of the system is happening all of the time.

    *

Trafficking for Cash

    *

One form of food-stamp trafficking is when someone sells food stamps to another person for cash or products. When selling food stamps for cash, a beneficiary charges $40 for $65 worth of food stamps, for instance. The increments of cash and food stamps are raised and lowered to fit the needs of the buyer. The trafficking of food stamps itself is illegal, but the crime is compounded when food stamps are sold for guns and drugs. If convicted of trafficking an amount less than $100, you are subject to one year in prison and a fine of up to $1,000 for the misdemeanor. The illegal use of food stamps valued at more than a $100 is a felony.

Most people on assistance should not be on assistance. Welfare has destroyed the fiber of America. Our greatest days of accomplishments did not come because of government based payout to those who feel they should not have to work. Thanks, Teacher's Unions- for adding more nails to the American Coffin in support of massive and overwhelming government growth and destruction of private initiative. It will be a comical day when the teacher paychecks bounce on Friday along with the millions of welfare checks because the products of public education that run our country can't do simple arithmetic.

Screw the public unions and government largess. Time to end the criminal racket of public education and welfare since you and your pals have turned it into a mafia. I want my freedom back as an American. I want my country back. You have pushed too far, too fast with socialism and this is where you reach your dead end.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I really get sick of hearing about unwanted pregnancy.  Gee whiz.  Planned Parenthood will hand you anything you want to prevent the unwanted.  On the taxpayers dollar. Don't we had out free condoms in  the schools.  Again on the taxpayers dollar. My son told me that sex education just teaches how to do it.  Not how to prevent it. We get more upset about the abused animals then we do about killing babies.  We use the rape thing as a justification for our wicked behavior and attitudes.  What gives anybody the right to take an others life.  I thought that was the reason we push all this birth control and how Planned Parenthood became a household name.  Do animals kill there young?  Do they try to abort their children?  Well then I guess we are lower then the animals who seem to have more brains and heart then we do.  Their are plenty of people that would love to have some of these unwanted babies.  What a shame that we would discard them like trash.  Disgusting.

We are the same as animals only with moderately developed brain.....hormones are still hormones....it's no different than you and I being the last
people(that we know of) on earth and starring at the last piece of fruit(that we know of) on earth and then fighting over it.....eventually our
instinct to survive wins out.....and sex is the same thing only there are mating factors involved that would make folks (hopefully) a little more
'choosey'......maybe girls should be indoctrinated a little more into thinking how bad the world is to bring babies into...some animal life wont procreate
due to the weather conditions and odds of survival....but, then again some animal life with be prolific in their procreation to beat the odds......
I guess our DNA is mixed up....
