France has become the first country to recognize the new anti-Quaddafi government in Benghazi, Libya. French President Sarkozy traveled to Libya to meet with leaders of opposition forces. Rebels have moved up rocket launchers and tanks to attack Quaddafi positions across the line on the road to Tripoli. Many former Libyan army personnel have defected to the anti-Quaddafi forces. Meanwhile President Obama is imposing economic sanctions. The contrast could not be more vivid.

YES, when anti-Islamic government demostrators were ready to topple the madman who runs Iran he INSISTED THAT THE US NOT TELL ANYONE HOW TO LIVE. Also he has been crystal clear that there is NO MILITANT ISLAMIC TERRORIST THREAT! So YES, he HAS taken a stand. It may not be for America and for its interests, but he HAS taken one for his favorite minority group and Islam,

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Vietnam was a French colony. Hilarious Hillary is now waiting for the UN "action". Don't hold your breath. If the Arab country is a US ally we throw them under the bus. If it's run by murdering terrorists (who murdered Americans on Pan Am and Marines at a Berlin disco) we have feet of clay.

Ronald Reagan knew what to do. Fire 10 cruise missiles at the Presidential Palace in Tripoli and be done with it. Lead. Act. Another Where's Waldo moment. Pathetic doesn't begin to describe Obama's horrid foreign policy. No wonder his poll numbers are in free fall.

Great Idea!!! Not only can we ask American men and women to die in Iraq, and Afghanistan, but why not add Libya to that list!

Many of these same Libyan "freedom fighters" were the same people shooting at us in Iraq!

If only we had George Worst Bush back as President.... we could do a rerun of Shock & Awe! George knew how to start a war!!! (But not finish them)
(Pathetic!)

You sound like Quaddafi trying to somehow link Al-Queida to Libya. Same as Iraq? I guess all Arabs are the same to you.

No one said another war. No troops have to be involved. Let France lead with air strikes and US fire some cruise missile from a safe distance. Appeasement, apology tours, useless economic sanctions. What happened to the beacon of freedom? Useless rhetoric or as Obama would say 'just words". Obama makes a big speech at University of Cairo and when the oppressed Libyan people finally rally after 41 years to throw over a bloody dictator he has another where's waldo moment.

Well, Box, I was just wondering, can you tell me when the last troops will be pulled out of Iraq and the area?  And I don't mean just changing the names of the divisions that are there, so there are no more "combat troops" there.

Really? The Iraqis that shot at us were killed by Marines or later killed themselves in suicide bombings. Give us some proof for this totally ignorant remark.

The Obama Administration has proven once again to be totally incompetent in foreign affairs. They keep saying Quaddafi must go and refuse to do anything to back it up. This will not happen with writs or more hot air. The first time since 1956 another country {France!} has taken the lead. Even the Washington Post is disgusted.

Foreign governments can SAY what they want, but unless there is a major change soon, the rebels will lose, and Quaddafi will stay in power.

On a per capita basis, though, twice as many foreign fighters came to Iraq from Libya — and specifically eastern Libya — than from any other country in the Arabic-speaking world. 84.1% of the 88 Libyan fighters in the Sinjar documents who listed their hometowns came from either Benghazi or Darnah in Libya’s east.
It’s a reminder that there’s no reason to just assume that Libyan rebels are nice folks on whose behalf we should launch a war with the Libyan government.

Great source material-Siniar documents? The 88 were sent by the halal butcher of Tripoli. You think they traveled thousands of miles on their own?

The Arabs have a saying "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". The freedom fighters are our friends-they can't could be any worse. Instead of reading Siniar documents read the Washington Post-for the first time since 1956 another country is leading the fight for freedom. What has happened to the beacon of freedom and light onto nations? Pressure is building on President Obama to finally back up his words with action. Give them the tools not the troops.
