It will be a good year for Democrats --  in the town and district #4

Then why are you seeking a republican endorsement?

The only people who have claimed that I was seeking the GOP endorsement are a bunch of fools and idiots.

R’dam supervisor race takes shape
John Purcell 03/10/11More articles

Former sheriff a top contender as endorsement for Del Gallo remains uncertain

Candidates for Rotterdam town supervisor are stepping into the spotlight as early interest has been expressed by many seeking to lead town government.

By the end of March, endorsements from the Democratic and Republican parties should be known, with former Schenectady County Sheriff Harry Buffardi being asked to run by the town’s Democratic committee, and current Supervisor Frank Del Gallo waiting to see who will back him in his bid for reelection. Del Gallo ran on the Conservative line but was cross-endorsed by the Democratic Party when he defeated Republican Steve Tommasone in 2009 by 250 votes. The majority of Del Gallo’s votes came from the Democratic ballot line.

“I’ve been here, and I didn’t finish the work I’ve got to do,” said Del Gallo. “I did a good job so far. Why wouldn’t they want me back? I actually did more in one year than the last three supervisors did in 10 years.”

Del Gallo had recently filed the forms to switch from a registered Conservative to Democrat, but the change would not go in effect until after the upcoming election. He said he plans to send out letters to all of the political parties for an endorsement in the upcoming election. Even if a party doesn’t endorse him, he said he will “run anyway, so it doesn’t matter.”

Buffardi has yet to confirm his bid for election, but he said he stepped up after being contacted for several months by party members and residents.

“Several people have contacted me over the past several months, some of them repeatedly, to ask me to step into the race,” said Buffardi. “It has been that interest that has kept me in the hunt.”

Buffardi said he was “heavily recruited” by the Rotterdam Democratic Committee.

“I think that it is going to unfold moving into the later part of March moving into April,” said Brian Quail, chairman for the county Democratic committee regarding the endorsements. “It is my understanding that a number of people have been talking about it.”

County Legislator and Rotterdam Democratic Chairman Tony Jasenski said many letters were received from interested candidates. He said the selection process is just beginning to unfold.

Jasenski said the committee has received a letter from Del Gallo seeking endorsement but hasn’t spoken to him personally about the election.

Buffardi said Jasenski had contacted him about running for the position.

“I do have an interest in Rotterdam, I am a Rotterdam boy, and I have been paying attention to local Rotterdam politics,” said Buffardi. “I think I can bring leadership and experience to that position if I was to run for it. As former sheriff, I had to deal with many difficult personnel matters. I have had experience making difficult decisions and acting on those difficult decisions.”

As a casual observer to the town’s government, he said he observed conflicts in economic development, and more time has been spent on disputes than more important matters.

“I don’t know if party politics is the most important issue here. … It is about collectively doing what is best,” said Buffardi.

Democratic board member Wayne Calder also agreed there is a lot of in-fighting on the Town Board.

Although Calder’s name has been mention in connection with a run for supervisor, he said he is only thinking about if he will run for his recently elected board seat.

“My view is I do care about the community, and I wanted to find the best fit for myself,” said Calder. “I don’t think there is going to be a lack of candidates for supervisor.”.....................>>>>.........................>>>>....................http://www.spotlightnews.com/n.....mp;utm_campaign=News

Senders, That contract  you put up says it well.
It is just that, a contract we have signed onto.

Now if we think of a contract, it is an agreement by parties to do or not do a thing, whatever the thing may be.
Can I come to your house and force you to contract me to put in new windows?
Of course not, even if I came while you were at work and put in new windows without your consent, I could not force you to pay.

What is this nexus that ties us to these thousands of laws and rules, many of which we do not even know exist?
What ties us into the jurisdiction of people we do not even know?

Lets say the head of the elks club who has jurisdiction in a town was to say everyone must do this or that I so decree and all the elks say yes.
Or say the bishop of a certain church who has jurisdiction over a certain geographical area makes a decree.
Even though I may live in the geographical area I am not under the jurisdiction unless I am a member.

Government works the same way, ours is supposed to anyway, and it did at one time many moons ago.
We are republic not a democracy.
This Regulatory Democracy has been overlaid on our Republic.
How have we come so far down this road?
While we all ponder who will be the next god over rotterdam consider that

“The real destroyers of the liberties of the people
is he who spreads among them bounties, donations, and benefits.” Plutarch.

Edward Gibbon praised “the union and discipline of the Christian republic” in his book The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, and explained that the Church "gradually formed an independent and increasing state in the heart of the Roman Empire.
Gibbons was not talking about the institutional church registered with the state but communities of people who lived together in faith hope and charity not forced taxation but free will to one another.

What is Proverbs 23 telling us when it says,
“When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what [is] before thee: And put a knife to thy throat, if thou [be] a man given to appetite. Be not desirous of his dainties: for they [are] deceitful meat”?

These benefactors become the gods of our society where we pray to them for our civil and temporal salvation. Since their benefits are provided at the expense of our neighbor by the exercising authority of these gods our souls are soon altered by our rejection of God's way of charity and love and we are returned to the bondage of Egypt.

Here is an interesting link about how we get bound to these rulers
  http://www.hisholychurch.org/sermon/godsmany.php

The key word, consent. It can be removed.
For a good primer on removing consent there is a good book called the Red Amendment by a guy LB Bork. You can find info on a google search

Mankind has repeatedly been snared by his own wantonness and appetite, his own greed and lust for power over his neighbor.
I guess this just about sums up what we have become!

TJ Hooker hasn't told FDG yet? Buffardi doesn't believe in party politics he's for "collectively doing what is best"-lol. Sounds like the old Soviet Union. Coming next-farming collectives in Rotterdam. In the Schalmont school district. This is getting funnier by the minute.

Proverbs 23 "his dainties"  Sounds like a reference to Mary Magdalene.  Is Buchanan still the head of the party?

...put a knife to thy own throat. I wish some of the "leaders" would take that last honorable road. Instead after their failures they are usually saluted and raised up...

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Well everything I said is wrong....
The government owns it all and they are in control submit or you will pay one way or another.
There is not voice of reason in government democratic or otherwise.
It is the vice of power and force.
All this voting for rulers is a ruse.
Medication for frustrated folks who have no way out but to go along to get along.
I see the word copservative used on this board.
The copservative is evolving into copzilla.

There is nothing wrong with cops being in politics.....I guess.

The fact of the matter is that it is the cops that control the local con party. And although that may be alarming to some, what is most alarming is how they run the con party. It appears that it is just the few, the 'executive' committee, that makes ALL of the decisions and endorsements.

The local con party does have a 'full committee' but their voices, ideas, votes are worth nothing. So because of the fact that the executive committee is in TOTAL control........should be alarming.

The cons and dems have cross endorsed candidates that have historically ruined schenectady county! Their endorsed candidates should not be taken into consideration when voting!! IMHO

Former sheriff
to try for town
supervisor post

ROTTERDAM — Former Schenectady County Sheriff Harry Buffardi will formally announce his candidacy for town supervisor today as part of a slate of four seeking the Democratic endorsement for town offi ces.
The field also includes current Councilman Wayne Calder, who is seeking re-election, and Michele Viscusi, who is seeking a seat on the council. Vincent J. Romano is running for highway superintendent.
The four will hold a press conference at 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Rotterdam Town Hall at 1100 Sunrise Blvd.
Buffardi said he had been struggling with the decision for a couple of months and numerous people have asked him to run.
“I want to bring integrity back to town government. I think that that’s been lacking. I have a pretty complete background in government. I have been in public service for the entirety of my adult life.”
Buffardi resigned as sheriff last year in the middle of his third term to become a full-time professor at Schenectady County Community College.
He pointed to his experience in running an agency of more than 200 employees with a budget similar to that of Rotterdam.
The Rotterdam Democratic Committee will meet on March 29 to consider endorsements.
The race for supervisor includes incumbent Frank Del Gallo, a Conservative who is also seeking the Democratic endorsement.
He said he will form his own party if not endorsed by anyone.
Republican Brian McGarry is also running for supervisor.

How many times is Mike Viscusi going to remind us that he is a clueless whore???? What a pair...Angelo is a spineless baby afraid of his own shadow
and MV is a desperate fool obsessed with titles and power he does not and will not have.

I wonder what the copservatives would think if they knew that after the last full scale Committee Primary, MV tried to conspire with other Conservatives
to take out his new masters....when no one would cooperate with him he decided to suck up big time....talk about the path of least resistance...he's
pathetic.
