But hey Tommy.......don't label ALL Christians as Catholic.

Many, if not most evangelical born again Christians do not consider Catholics to be Christian- ( that is unless they are born again )

This issue was addressed by Bishop Hubbard in the Evangelist, the diocese weekly newspaper.

The Evangelicals are a force to deal with whether your Catholic or not.  It's all in the "born-again."

Ronny, if you'd like to get into a Theological debate on what's correct and what isn't, I'll gladly discuss it with you at any time. It is a challenge having a battle of whit and knowledge with an unarmed person, but I'll gladly spot you a few just to make it an even playing field.  You never know, you might just learn something, as may I.

This isn't the forum for a debate - so this will be the last comment I make on this thread.  I will not however back down in my defense of the Catholic Church, Her teachings or Canon laws - so if you insist on debating this, you know where to find me.

First -- my name is Ron and not Ronny
Second -- you are wrong .. so there is no point in debating the matter further
Third - I have no idea who you are and don't really care to know who you are ..

Sorry Tommy that was not meant for you at all.  My point was none of this was an issue for Cuoma before because nobaody was following him to Mass with cameras.  My whole life was and still is centered around Mass (several times a week) several commissions of the diocese and sering as liturgy coordinator for St. Vincent's as well as doing a Communion service for VI apartments for seniors.  My life too centers around the church.  But still, who really cares if he goes to communion or if he doesn't.  Better he should go than not.  Hubbard's response was on target.

Agreed -- and many folks seem to forget that Jesus cautioned people about worrying about the speck in their neighbor's eye when they had a plank in their own.

We are ALL sinners and have fallen short of what God wants us to be ... We all need the mercy and grace that can be found in the Church community and its Sacraments.

but if one is NOT a professed brother/sister of yours,,,,it turns out that it's none of your business.....hence religion is THAT

Abortion is still immoral  ... whether you keep your religion to yourself or not.
No law passed by humans will ever make abortion moral.

Also -- it is my business if people promote the murder of another living human being.  Even if you succeed
in taking away my constitutional right to free speech, I will continue to say publicly that abortion is immoral and wrong.   Even if you lock me in a prison cell, I will still say it.

That's what I like to here.....you standing up for YOURSELF....no one defending you and if you wanted to say it on the rooftops...
GO AHEAD....and if anyone wants an abortion and is standing up for their own choice they can walk head held high into a doctors
office and make their choice......

It is my right AND your right to promote CHOICE......

- this is 2011 - and you would think that scientists would have a definition of life by now -

Abortion is certainly wrong for those that think it is immoral - as apostle Paul said " nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. "

Most civilized societies have agreed that killing a fellow human was wrong ... throughout history.

and Paul the Apostle was referring to man-made rituals and rules .. not to God-given rule like "thou shall not kill" (which is clearly a God-given rule .. if you took the time to read the Hebrew Scriptures or Old Testament.

Is this what you call "giving up for lent?" Or is this an untruth that you NEEDED TO ADDRESS????

...you LIE about what you are giving up for LENT? WHAT THE F_CK? Why would you LIE about it in front of everyone?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Cuomo should not be receiving Communion

Re March 6 Viewpoint, “Changing values”: If Andrew Cuomo is such a practicing Catholic, as the papers claim, then he above all should know better than to receive Holy Communion, and thus not put the bishop or priest in that position.
[The] Catholic Church’s foundation is deeply rooted in 6,000 years of biblical scriptures. That is why I have remained a lifelong Catholic/Christian believer. Our fundamental basis is what defines us. Just like the laws defi ne our government.
If I were stopped by a corrupt police officer for speeding, would my crime be any less illegal? No. Laws are laws.
Jesus encountered the same problem in his time. His answer, “do as they say, not as they do.”

canon law, Is that from the sermon on the mount?
The bishop knows that Jesus did not teach canon law but it was made up by men.
Jesus said once while talking to the religious lawmakers of His day,
something like Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself, in these you fullfill ALL the law.
Following the Law does not save anyone nor is it by our works.
It is by faith and even that is a gift so no one can boast about religious , political or economic stature.
But If the bishop works for an organization who says this is the law ,then to be a member you must abide by their law.
That is how a contract works, unless of coures it involves political/religious rulers.
There is always room for adjustment for the blessed and highly favored.
If the bishop says it is between cuomo and God what is he doing in the middle of it .
Ah... it is the photo op good democrat good catholic son of a governor he must be a good guy. Just ask Fred Dicker.
WHat does his girl do?  lets see ,the enttecontainment industry, the politicians and the actors do seem to get on quite well.
Many of the actors become politicians, most of the politicians are actors, makes sense:

We didnt come this far to get this far.
