Also, I absolutely LOVE your emphasis on "own." Lots of property OWNers have done great things for Rotterdam! Like build a worthless mall and shoddy condominium complex over a wetland. Or bought buildings in the center of town and let them rot into the ground. Yeah. OWN. Used in context: Rotterdam residents get 0wn3d by the rich and politically connected. Can't wait til DeLorenzo 'owns' something near your house.

DeLorenzo doesn't deserve anything

What Mr. DelGallo was referring to(as was later clarified at the 6/9/10 Board Meeting) was that if the residents did not withdraw their opposition to Mr. DeLorenzo's zone change, they wanted to allow him to move the building closer to the Gabriele property and turn it so that all the windows would be facing their yard.  This was the reason 3 members of the board voted to get the engineer's report - to see if that was possible.  You can see Mr. Blackstone's presentation of the two site plans on the video of that meeting. Many felt that this was an attempt to strong arm the residents. The engineer's report determined that was NOT possible.  If you would like to familiarize yourself with the zoning code of the town it is available on their website.

Never say never this is Rotterdam and it's I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine so anything can happen.

Engineer's report states he already has roughly 84 bedrooms where he should only have 29.  There are also other set back issues etc.  The zone change he is requesting fits the description of an illegal spot zone.  There was a resident at the meeting who explained all this.

This is exactly how zoning goes on in Rotterdam, so in the end, expect that they will get what they want.  This happens all the time.  I realize this was on the agenda last year, but can anyone tell me if there has ever been a zoning change (besides this one before) that didn't go through in Rotterdam?

you know what I find interesting....the more I look at the budgets....from 2009-adopt2011.....2009 has all this $$ collected for all kinds of things(which
probably really did happen, I'm going to add them up) then in 2010 and 2011 everything 'collected' goes 'down'.......now my guess is someone/thing
entity is leeching off the town.....except for ALS which just happens to show up in 2011 at $100,000.....now I'm no accountant.....but......................

That's because Tommasone illegally allowed REMS to bill, collect and RETAIN ALS funds that should have been going into the
general fund...the projected ALS revenue is only now appearing in the budget because the ALS collection will now be done the
right way...legally. This is why Tommasone slipped $120,000 into his last budget on his way out the door...he knew that REMS
would no longer be able to collect those funds on the sly once he was gone in the new year.
