The Democrats are the ones who courted ND...not the other way around...same with the GOP.

If that's the case, why did the Democrats and Republicans have a record of endorsing and then dumping a regisistered Conservative?  Why do the Democrats endorse a candidate that the Repubicans dumped and visa versa?

Was it the Democrats that courted Angelo?  Is that OK?

The Republicans never dumped ND...nor did the Democrats....things aren't always as they seem.

I don't know whether the Democrats courted Angelo or if it was the other way around...either way it was definitely not OK...but I
still don't see what that has to do with ND and the very different circumstances.

So rotterdamians can all agree that ND dumped the reps (although no one is telling rotterdamians exactly why)and perhaps is now looking to them for an endorsement?

Let's hope that doesn't happen cause if they did that........they just may follow suit one day and endorse the one time rep AS. I would hate to see the rep party turn into political whore like the dems.

I'm sure the cons and dems will endorse her again since she won on their lines last election. So that will be no conflict with BM.....only with HB.

As far as ND's harsh, city, soprano style behavior......I think all rotterdamians can agree that ALL five of them have less than desirable personalities.......yes?

Just wondering, Why do you think he won't work with the party?  Or maybe the party won't work with him because they want it their way . . . . .

All can speculate and try to shore up certain candidates, but cast your vote for the best candidate you feel there is.  Part of your deliberation is where Rotterdam has been, where it is, and where it should be, and whom can get it there, plain and simple . . .

This topic is way off the thread title anyways.

I was just thinking the same about the thread subject...but to answer your question...

I'm not saying that BM won't work with the Party...as far as I know he has been involved in their affairs, etc. But I also know he
has been doing it with the intention of scoring their nomination...which is fine. All I'm saying is that if he wants his involvement
to continue he will have to learn that politics is compromise...that from the Party's perspective their highest priority is of course to
win elections...and to advance their ideological candidates with the best chances of winning, should they have to make that decision.

If the Party does not nominate BM for Supervisor they have made it clear that they would support him for the County Leg...a much
better fit given his base in Duanesburg and other political advantages that I won't get into here but of which BM is well aware...it's
a race he can actually win....because he will never beat Dirty Harry...and I would rather see him in a race he can win...because I do
believe he would learn to be an effective representative...regardless of position title.

Should circumstances leave BM with a choice between the County and the spoiler, I hope he will choose the win-win with the
County...because if not, the spoiler road means no chance of victory for the GOP in the Supervisor's race and the Party will then
rightfully see him as a petty troublemaker seeking revenge for not getting his way. Like it or not, the Party has the upper hand...their
Committees choose their Party's candidates and they are not going to let one new Party member dictate their agenda. Like it or not,
the reality is that BM does not have the standing to "give" them their way or not...it's the other way around. Sure, he can Primary...but
if he files another petition as a backup if he loses then that, IMO, is a spoiler declaration...as opposed to a simple willingness to accept the will of Party electors and support the Primary winner. The sad part of this option is that BM will blindly forego the race he could have won...because he chose instead to spoil the Supervisor candidate...when we really need both BM and ND on our side, if ND runs...but
this option would guarantee the loss of both.

On what basis do Rotterdamians agree on that BT??? I happen to know that ND's decision to enroll Conservative was strictly
personal...so all I will say is that it had nothing to do with the GOP....or anyone else before you make anymore of those
assumptions on that.

What makes you so sure ND would run on the Dem line again??? Or there is no potential conflict with BM????

Assumptions....

You would be more familiar with their personalities if you had regular personal communication with them...but your posts make
it painfully clear that you do not.

Things aren't always as they seem...

He's going to accept an endorsement to run for County Leg against Angelo, the same person half of the Rotterdam Republican Committee supported when he ran against Amedore for Assembly?  Taking the County Leg endorsement to run against Angelo is like buying a ticket from Benedict Arnold for a free ride on the Titanic.

I must be missing something here? There would only be a conflict between BM and ND IF ND, a registered CON, were seeking an endorsement from the reps, since BM IS a registered rep and is seeking an endorsement from his own party.

ND WAS a registered rep, but left them years ago. Now ND is a registered con and has already been endorsed, ran and won on both her own party line..... con line, and the dem line. So that is a ND/HB conflict.

Well...BM is asking for support from those same Committee Members.

You are missing something...a lot in fact...as I said...ND has sought nothing from either of the major Parties...they are the ones
who went after her...and just because she ran on the Dem line and won doesn't necessarily mean she will run on that line again.

BM just changed to Rep yesterday...and he did so specifically with the intention of running for Supervisor and forging a Primary if
he didn't get the nod...and as I said, that's fine.

But just because ND is a Conservative doesn't mean she shouldn't be considered...after all, Conservatives who are conservative
usually support GOP candidates...because they are usually the more conservative candidates...just as BM always did while he was
enrolled Conservative for the last 20 years or so....and now wants the support of his former Party. By your reasoning, BM shouldn't
be given consideration for CP support.

This is correct IF we weren't talking about schenectady county politics!!

HOWEVER...in schenectady county the con aka cops and the dems are the parties that cross endorse each other. The reps are running solo...just like the cons planned. The cons and dems have an undesirable history........ JD, HV, AS, ND, WC.

And since it is the cons that have planned this solo run by the reps, why would or why should the reps endorse a con NOW?????? Especially when they have one of their own now, that not only can they run successfully, but can also guarantee them a 2nd line?

ND did well with the cons and dems and should stay that course. The reps have a chance to turn things around for the first time in a l-o-n-g time with BM. Let's hope they do the right thing for rotterdam FOR THE FIRST TIME and endorse BM!!!

It is correct because things aren't always as they seem...you are generalizing...I try to look at these things on an individual
basis....there are exceptions, even in this county.

The so-called leaders of the CP are the ones who cross endorse Democrats...you know that the conservative members of the
Party usually oppose those endorsements....and they wouldn't deny the alliance between the Demokratz and their puppets
running the CP on their behalf...you can believe they would agree that these conditions are certainly "undesirable".

And btw...AS was not endorsed by those same "leaders"...you'll remember that the conservative members of the Party had to
Primary for that line. Given what happened with George Amedore last year, I suspect AS will be denied again...even though he
is now a Democrat, which is usually "required" for that endorsement in those races, with only two exceptions that I know of.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say a "solo run" was "planned"...but you can rest assured that the "Cons" who run the
CP plan nothing for the GOP.

ND would remain on her own Party line if she ran for anything...but she is not, nor should she be obligated to run on the Dem line.

The GOP will turn nothing around if they don't win and BM will not beat Dirty Harry.
