This is getting off topic, but . . . .

Not sure I buy that one Hack!  Didn't the T.B. cut the Assessor's salary in half and make it part-time to drive out the sitting assessor?  Surprise - Pol. Party?  EE - Pol. Party?   Somebody knew something! (reading between the lines . . . . . )

The difference is, Eunice is an elected official, not an employee (Assessor)

This is true, but Town Law, Article 3, Chapter 27 states the Town Board sets salaries of employees and elected officials, and the change to the assessor occurred within one of the short windows of opportunity (budget process) when a change can be legally made.  The Town does have legal representation on such matters I assume.

First.....as I stated on the EE thread.....NO ONE will touch this issue, even if they legally can, because it would be political suicide....dem or rep...

Second and back on topic......I and many many others are certainly hoping that PG runs for mayor! McCarthy would be the same old regime, Hull was part of the problem in the city..........PG is the hopeful for many.

What makes the prospect of PG for the City any different than a potential ND for Supervisor??? PG is also a former member of the
County Legislature...Chairman in fact, for a while....yet you never mentioned him under your "Same names and faces" thread.

Point taken, but it appears that you are mixing apples and oranges here. PG 'might' be running for the mayor of schenectady (city). One position he previously ran for and almost won.

Some people see McCarthy as the 'same old regime' and Hull part of the problem. What are the options? I don't think PG has even made the announcement that he is even running for mayor.....it's pure speculation at this point....no?

Sorry, but I don't see the correlation.

I don't know PG or GM but I think the point Gadfly was making is that both these guys have held elected office so how could they possibly be considered "new faces?"  As far as PG running or not - I don't think you hold a press event to announce you're not running.  He'll be in for sure.

I also don't know Mr. Hull very well but I'm not sure I buy into the notion "he's part of the problem."  Why doesn't his independent attempt impress you - his ideas behind the Alliance Party don't seem to differ much than those the NNTP started with (or at least I did), in my opinion.

The NNTP was founded on basic CONS principles-what's the Alliance Party founded on? There's a huge difference between 4 business leaders fighting the REMS tax and a cult of personality looking for more nonprofit solutions. No wonder attendance at each Alliance Party event has plummeted.

Many folks tried to reason with RH last year about bringing the NNTP into the City. It was too conservative for him! He proposed a cap on record City taxes. At least throw a bone to the oppressed City taxpayers and propose a 5% cut in record Stratton property taxes. Any well funded opposition to clueless DEMS is a positive thing. The Alliance Party needs to go through the joke City budget line by line looking for pork, looking for cuts, looking for economies of scale. Then come up with a comprehensive plan not more platitudes.

MO I'll certainly agree Hull would be less of a beholden person than PG.  PG is the typical Rotterdam Gumba.

WP if your so bored why dont you go get a job and stop reading this blog site????

Besides, if the truth is so boring to you you can easily follow some of the ridiculous lies spread by many on this bored.  That should keep you awake.  In the meantime I hear Bob Hoffman is a really well-liked guy in the city...should give wheeler dealer guiderelli a good contest.
