Dvr. In one post you said you entered midnight mass w/ not a speck of snow one the ground . A few post's later we had a major snowstorm starting at 11pm on Christmas eve . Can you keep your story straight. At least read what you previously posted so as not to look as unbelievable .
At the time, Our church had the choir sing and a procession to the manger BEFORE Midnight Mass. Being an altar server for Midnight Mass meant that one had to get to church at 11 PM to vest and do last minute prep (light the candles, etc) before the services begin at 11:30. The actual Mass begins at about Midnight and then due to the longer homily, longer time to distribute Communion and other added formalities -- Mass would runtoabout 1:30 AM. In the last decade or so, we -like many churches - moved the start of the services actually to 10:30 PM. Somechurches do "Midnight Mass" as early as 8 pm or 9 pm. |

He loves to make things up about everything, great and small.
Everything that I have said is factual and was not made up. |

Actually we have had some earlier in the season and in past years I recall it. The reason I know is that I spend a lot of time outside and notice it more by being out there. |

"Thunder snow" is actually a lot more common than most people think.
It is not as bad as "lake effect" snow -- having gone to high school in Michigan .. I remember the blizzards there. One shut down most of the state for 3 or 4 days. |

Quoted from DemocraticVoiceOfReason: The fact is that MT will disagree with me -- if I say the sun rises in the morning in the east ..he would argue that .. no .. it rises in the west at night.
From reading both your posts and those of MobileTerminal, I suspect that MT would say that the "sun rises in the morning in the east" after your assertion that it "rises in the west at night". |

You are entitled to your opinion -- even if it is wrong. The snow event during Midnight Mass sometime in the mid 1970's did happen as I related. In fact, I was speaking with some parishioners on Sunday afternoon andthe remember the event -- but like me can not remember exactly what year it was. Bottomline -- and that was the whole purpose of my original post -- "thunder snow" happens more frequently than one might expect. It isn't as bad as "lake effect snow" and I have had some experiences with that -- but given the nastiness of many of the folks on this site ... it is not worth sharing those memories. |

Thundersnow, also known as a winter thunderstorm or a thunder snowstorm, is a relatively rare kind of thunderstorm with snow falling as the primary precipitation instead of rain. It typically falls in regions of strong upward motion within the cold sector of an extratropical cyclone, where the precipitation consists of ice pellets rather than snow. Thermodynamically, it is not different from any other type of thunderstorms but the top of the cumulonimbus are usually quite low.
...
One unique aspect of thundersnow is that the snowfall acts as an acoustic suppressor of the thunder. The thunder from a typical thunderstorm can be heard many miles away, while the thunder from thundersnow can usually only be heard within a two to three mile radius from the lightning. In the United States, March is their peak month of formation, and on average, only 6.3 events are reported per year
...
Thundersnow, while relatively rare anywhere, is more common with lake effect snow in the Great Lakes area of the United States and Canada, the midwestern U.S., and the Great Salt Lake.

ooooh, OK Dalia Lama. Or should I call you General Patent (as in patent leather shoe.)??? Have you loved the enemy to death and handed them flowers over there today yet? Did you worship Allah with them yet? When you load your rifle, how do you get the flower petals in the cartridges? You know, the ones that you shoot at the terrorists after you read them their Geneva convention rights when they are shooting at your men? It is sad the military is filled will liberal officers today. How tough you are. I am scared. I am especially scared of you after you are at your support group meeting where you cry on the other officers' shoulders. Maybe you can sue for peace. Then the world will "all get along.!" |

GB- I find you sad and laughable. You know nothing of my political points of view or my leadership style. All you know from previous posts is that I am a dem by affiliation and an officer in the military. By being degrading and speaking down to me in your posts it makes you feel better. If that is what it takes for you to feel like a man I feel sorry for you and those around you. I just hope you don't take your emasculation issues out on your loved ones. |
